There are many foreign motorcycle brands coming to India by next year. One of them is the Italian brand SWM. This company will be getting its SuperDual adventure bike in India.

Ajinkya Firodia of Kinetic Group has confirmed the same. SWM has allied with Motoroyale, part of Kinetic Group to sell its bikes in India. This Italian bike will be seen on Indian roads in a few months from now.

The SWM SuperDual 600 will be the first bike to be sold from this brand. This will open gates for other models from the company, which manufactures various capacities of motorcycles from 125cc to 600cc. Motoroyale also sells bikes form another Italian manufacturer – MV Agusta. However, They are priced at the higher end of the spectrum. SWM will be offering more affordable bikes. SWM SuperDual Launch Date

This bike is expected to be launched somewhere in early 2018. There is a possibility of a launch at the Auto Expo 2018 as well.

It is expected that the bike will be made available to customers by March or April 2018. Initially the bikes will come in as CBU (Completely Built Units) The company may later look at assembling the bikes in India, if there is good demand.

SWM SuperDual Price

The SuperDual is expected to be price around Rs. 5.0 lakhs(on-road). This bike will be an on-offroad bike, hence is expected to be an affordable option for those looking to upgrade to a more powerful bike. It will also target established brands in the category like the Kawasaki Versys 650.

The SWM SuperDual 600 is a typical adventure bike. It stands tall and has a raised front mudguard. There is a tallish windscreen and a wide handlebar. The headlamp cluster reminds us of the KTM Adventure bikes. The fuel tank is a sculpted one and has a chiseled look. The rear has place for two panniers on either side. These can be removed as well. It will come with dual purpose tyres. The exhaust is placed high above, just below the rear seat. This will give it better very good water wading capability.

The SWM SuperDual is powered by a single cylinder 600cc engine. This one is liquid cooled. It has a maximum power of 56bhp and 53.5Nm of torque. The engine works comes mated to a six-speed transmission.  It has a Fast Ace adjustable upside down front fork of 45mm and an adjustable rear Sachs mono shock, mounted to the double cradle steel frame.

It has a 19-inch front wheel and the a 17-inch rear spoke wheels. They are shod with Metzeler Tourance tyres, which are road biased tyres with some off-road capability. A 300 mm front and a 220 mm rear disc do the duty of the brakes here. ABS is standard on this motorcycle. The fuel tank capacity is 18 litres, which is suitable for touring. The bike weighs 169 kilograms.

Competition

The SWM SuperDual 600 will mainly compete with the Benelli 600GT and the Kawasaki Versys 650. However, it will be much more affordable as it is a single cylinder bike and hence will cost less. This bike will add another option to buyers. Now it is to be seen how well does Motoroyale manage to sell this bike.
