We were the first to state that the Hero Impulse will come with a 200 or 250cc engine. Hero has renamed the brand as XPulse. This was recently showcased at the 2017 EICMA in Milan. Hero is working towards gets an all new range of bikes in the 200cc segment and one of them is the XPulse. The other bikes that Hero is working on is the Xtreme 200 R. This was recently showcased and Hero will soon launch this bike. To know more about the Xtreme 200 R, click here.

Hero MotoCorp had earlier revealed its new bike called the Xpulse. The Hero Xpulse was unveiled at EICMA 2017. Hero is developing this new adventure bike which will cater to the domestic market and also will be exported from India. The Xpulse will be Hero’s answer to the Royal Enfield Himalayan. It will also undercut it in pricing, making it more affordable. All those bikers who were waiting for an affordable and reliable adventure motorcycle, need to rejoice. Though it does not look as exciting as we expected it to, it certainly looks like it is built to a purpose. What is expected from the new Hero Xpulse?  We were the first to tell that Hero is developing new 200-250cc Impulse kind of motorcycle back in 2015. Read on further to know more.

Hero Xpulse Price in India

The Hero Xpulse is expected to be priced just under Rs.2 lakhs. We expect it to be around 1.8 lakhs (ex-showroom). This will make it affordable and also good value for money. Hero is known to make affordable and reliable bikes. The new Hero Xpulse will also carry this trait. It will be the only adventure motorcycle under 2 lakhs. This will be a very good move from Hero MotoCorp. The competition will need to catch up in this segment.

Hero Xpluse Launch Date

Nothing can be confirmed as of now. Hero has unveiled the bike at EICMA 201, recently. An India launch may be happening sometime in late 2018 or early 2019. It depends how quickly Hero can get the production in place. As far as the demand goes, the adventure bike segment needs an affordable bike. It has to fill the void after the death of the Impulse.

Hero Xpulse Design

Hero XPulse is an off-roading concept showcased at EICMA. This new model will be the replacement for the Impulse, in India. It will be more powerful and will also have more features. The Hero Xpulse will get off-road tyres, a bigger wind protector and higher ground clearance than the Impulse. This new bike will be riding on all new Metzeler tyres. A more affordable set of tyres will also be offered, most likely. The headlamp is round and has a large windscreen. There is a raised front fender and a long travel conventional telescopic fork suspension set-up. Handlebars and hand guards are olive green. Fuel tank has a flush-fitting cap.

There is blacked-out engine and there is a engine guard underneath. The bike also gets a crash guard for added protection. However, we do not know whether this will be a standards fitment or will be offered as an accessory. It also gets an upswept exhaust, which is a good thing and increases the wader wading ability of the bike. The seats offer an upright stance. There is a box-section swing arm. The rear gets mono shock. It will get front and rear discs, hence braking os expected to be good.

Hero Xpulse Specifications

Engine 199.6cc
Power 18 bhp
Torque 17 Nm
Transmission 5-speed
Top Speed 105 km/hr

The Hero Xpulse will be launched in the 200cc category. It will be a single-cylinder, dual-purpose motorcycle. It should produce around 18bhp of power. There will be a five-speed gearbox mated to the engine. The Xpulse is expected to fill the void created after the Hero Impulse was taken out of production.

The Hero Impulse has a good following and adventure bikers have been vying for a replacement. This will come with the 200cc engine that was showcased on the Xtreme. So it will churn about 18bhp of power and 17Nm of maximum torque. This will not be the most powerful bike in this segment. Neither it will offer great performance. This will be a new adventure bike faster than the Impulse. There were issues of performance with the Impulse, but this one will a tad faster. We do not expect it to be extremely fast, but not as quick as the Pulsar AS 200, which was on sale until sometime back.

Hero is looking at entering this segment to gain from the rising demand for affordable on/off road motorcycles not only in India but in other countries as well. The company will also try to price the bike competitively and also try to undercut the Himalayan.

Hero MotoCorp has the largest dealer and service network in the country and this has been its greatest strength that has helped it compete with othe manufacturers. With a newline up of products coming up, Hero is gearing up to a new challenge. The launch of the Hero Xpulse will ensure

Hero Xpulse Competition

The Hero Xpulse will not have any proper contender against it. Not at the moment. So, Hero will have a free run in this segment. However, we will still have to wait and watch and then decide, how good it is. There will be better performance than Impulse. But how much better? Only time will tell.
