Suzuki is launching an all new bike in India and this will be go head on against the Avenger. Bajaj had updated its cruiser bike last year and since then there has been no looking back. The Indian bike maker has been doing well in numbers. Suzuki Gixxer has been well received on the other hand. The Suzuki Intruder 150 vs Bajaj Avenger 150 will be the most common comparison made. The Suzuki will come with the Gixxer engine and the Avenger has the Pulsar AS 150 engine.

On other hand, Bajaj will be more affordable but the Suzuki bike shall have a smooth engine. It will even have a lot more features in terms of bells and whistles and even safety. This is a battle between value for money and a stronger product. What will be a better choice? We share all the details. Read further to know more about the Suzuki Intruder and the Avenger.

Suzuki Intruder 150 vs  Bajaj Avenger 150 Design

In terms of styling, the Suzuki Intruder will have an advantage. It has cool looking headlamp with LEDs. The aspiration has been taken from the elder sibling. There is some bling upfront and the Intruder has good style element on to it. The side profile makes it look appealing and cool enough. The rear also stands out. The design is radical and it has it appeal.

There are black alloy wheels and a lot of body fairing too. The is stepped. In images the bike looks big and seems to have more cc underneath. The tyres though are skinny when compared to the overall size of the bike. This design looks urban and is likely to be offered in grey and black dual tone option.

Suzuki Intruder 150 side

Moving on to the Avenger, this resembles the Harley-Davidson Street 750. It is narrower handles than the Cruiser version.

The bike has simplistic styling. A round headlamp, black handle bars, a simple looking fuel tank. The design is neat and will not fade away easily. This is a design that will not be flavour of the month. The rear also has subtle styling.

Suzuki Intruder 150 vs  Bajaj Avenger 150 Engine and Transmission

The Intruder with its Gixxer engine will be butter smooth. This is one of the finest engines in this segment and has punchy performance. This is what will make the Intruder a fun to ride motorcycle. This enigne churns about 14bhp of power and close to 14Nm of maximum torque. This will be offered with a five-speed transmission. The power of this engine will be good enough. There shall be more than sufficient torque to ride in the city without many gear shifts. Even the gear shifts are smooth and clutch is light enough.

Bajaj avenger 150

The Avenger’s 150cc engine is the smoothest Bajaj engine ever. It also churns about 14.5bhp of power and close to 12Nm of torque. This engine also comes with a five-speed transmission.

The power delivery is linear, but it misses on the performance bit. We wish this engine has some more torque to make it appealing enough.

Mileage

The Suzuki Intruder 150 should return close to 45km/l in the city and this will go up to 50km/l on the highway. Not much has been changed on the engine and even a similar underpinnings to the Gixxer. So, we do not expect any change in the mileage. There will be a minor change. Nothing drastic.

The Bajaj Avenger on the other hand will return about 40km/l in the city and close to 45km/l on the highway. Suzuki will have an advantage over the Avenger in terms of engine performance and even its mileage.

Ride and Handling

A tad bit early to state the ride and handling characteristics of the Intruder. But we are certain that this new bike will have pliant ride and good enough handling. As it does share a lot of parts with the Gixxer, we are hoping for it to have good riding characteristics.

Suzuki INtruder 150 front

On the other hand, the Avenger has very good ride. In fact this is true for all the Bajaj bikes. The company has ensured that all its bikes have good enough quality. The handling too of the bike is good enough. There is nothing to complain about its dynamics, not on the Avenger 150.

Price

In terms of pricing, the Intruder shall be expensive as it offers a lot more safety features. There are more bells and whistles too on offer. Bajaj Avenger is a subtle bike with minimal features, designed to offer good value for money to the consumer. This makes it a great package to consider. The Bajaj Avenger 150 price starts at about ₹ 81,500 without road tax. We reckon the Suzuki Intruder should be about ₹ 87,000 without any road tax.

Safety

In terms of safety, the Intruder comes with front and rear disc brakes. There will even be ABS on offer as well. On the other hand, the Avenger 150 packs in front disc brake. The rear has drum brake and no ABS is on offer, on any of the variants.

Verdict

Which to buy? Of the two, Bajaj is a good value for money product. On the other hand, the Suzuki bike is more expensive. This falls under the Avenger 220 pricing.
