2018 Aprilia SR 150 to get minor changes

Aprilia has been highly successful with the launch of the new SR 150 and the SR 150 Race. Both these scooters have turned around the fortune of the company in India. The high localisation of the product made it affordable making it a good product to consider. This scooter was made cheaper than the Vespa, with the same 150cc engine. But better performance and even riding dynamics. This turned around the table for the Italian bike maker. No one in India knows this brand for its superbikes but its scooter instead. This is first step in the right direction.

Aprilia will not stop here. It will be getting the 2018 Aprilia SR 150. This will be an upgrade on the existing scooter. It shall offer some more bells and whistles if you are a racing enthusiast.

2018 Aprilia SR 150 Launch Date

We are expecting this new scooter to come in by December 2018 or early 2019. It will not come in anytime before that. Aprilia is looking at offering upgrades with model year change.

2018 Aprilia SR 150 Design

There will be no change in the design of the new scooter. Aprilia will want to continue offering the same black and and white colour schemes on this new scooter. This has been a working formula and they will not want to change it anytime soon. Same goes with the Aprilia SR 150 Race. There will be no change in the design or the livery. The same 14-inch tyres will be offered with black alloy wheels.

2018 Aprilia SR 150 Engine and Transmission

The Aprilia SR 150 MY 2018 will have the same 149cc engine that shall churn about 10bhp of power at 6,750rpm and 11Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. This will come mated to a CVT box. There shall be no difference in the power or even the torque.

The Italian bike maker will not want to change any of this.

2018 Aprilia SR 150 Mileage

There shall be no change in the fuel-efficiency of the Aprilia SR 150, when compared to the updated version. There is no difference in the engine tuning and hence we do not expect any change in the mileage also. The Aprilia SR 150 shall see no change in mileage and performance. In city it will return about 40km/l and the highway about 43-45km/l.

2018 Aprilia SR 150 Suspension

Here is where the changes will happen. There shall be an option of adjusting the front suspension set-up. This will be an option on the regular SR 150 and a standard fitment for the SR 150 Race. Aprilia is looking at adding more benefits to the 150cc scooter. This will make it an ideal scooter daily riding and it can be re-tuned for better handling on bad roads.

2018 Aprilia SR 150 Colours

There will be no change the colours on offer. The two colours will continue to be Black and white. The SR 150 Race will also have the same colour on offer.

Aprilia is looking at adding more options into its fleet, but not with colours rather with difference in styling. Globally also there aren’t many colour options available on this new scooter.

2018 Aprilia SR 150 Price

We expect a price hike of about Rs 5,000 on this new variant. This will be offered as an addition and one will have to order for it.
