Skoda Kodiaq has been launched for Rs 34.49 lakhs. This is the company’s latest offering SUV and the new flagship too. This new SUV replaces the Superb as the new flagship model. Skoda Kodiaq is a seven-seater SUV and it will compete with the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour. It is based on the MQB platform, which it shares with the VW Tiguan.

Skoda is looking at getting multiple new SUVs into the Indian car market. One of them is the Koraq. The Skoda Kodiaq comes with the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns about 148bhp of power and 350Nm of maximum torque. This engine comes with a seven-speed DSG only. This comes with the 4×4 version, which is the all-wheel drive version. There is only version at the moment. We reckon, more options will come in the near future.

This is the fully-loaded version of the Kodiaq and offers all the bells and whistles. The biggest advantage is its size. It isn’t very large and this makes it a strong case for itself. The Kodiaq is more compact than the Fortuner and the Endeavour. There are multiple clever features that are offered on this SUV, which are exclusive to Skoda only.

It has a door mounted umbrella and one hand bottle opener, also seen on the Octavia.

The Skoda Kodiaq comes with door edge protectors. They swing out to cover the door edges when the door is opened.

It also has sleep headrests, which fold out. There is a variable boot divider for better storage. The boot light is detachable and acts a a torch as well. Then it also gets a heated steering wheel and electric rear door child locks. There is a driver microphone to speak to the rear passengers. The microphone automatically detects driver’s voice. The Skoda Kodiaq will even have 360 degree external view with four cameras.
