Maruti Celerio X (Cross) price starts at Rs 4.59 lakhs (ex-showroom)

After the Celerio success story, Maruti has been looking at adding more options to its portfolio. Maruti Suzuki is the company that has been known overlap a lot of its products and it does the same. Recently,  the Celerio got a facelift with minor cosmetic changes. Even though there aren’t many changes to the design, but the X gets cosmetic changes. This makes it looks different.  At the 2016 Auto Expo, Chevrolet Beat Activ and the Tiago Aktiv were showcased. These would be the competitors for it. Chevrolet being gone, it will be now just Tiago Aktiv. Maruti Celerio X is the new option in town.

The engine of the Celerio X will remain the same as the existing one. There will be in change in it. This is the 1.0-litre K series petrol unit. It has a power output of 67bhp and 90 Nm of torque. This is sufficient for this light car and good for driving in the city. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT . We are not sure if the AMYT will be made available on the Maruti Celerio X.

The wheel size will be the same. These alloy wheels will be of black-machined finish and will look attractive. The ground clearance of the car will not see any change either. The suspension setup would remain the same though.

Maruti Celerio X Variants

There shall be in-total 8 variants on offer on the Celerio X. These will be VXi, VXi (O), ZXi and ZXi (O) in manual and AMT. These make it an eight variant list. There shall be no LXi and LXi (O) variants on offer either.

Maruti Celerio X Colours

There shall be 5 colour options: Arctic White, Gustling Grey, Torque Blue, Caffeine Brown and Orange. The last one being the company’s communication colour. This vehicle will be for those who do not need the subtle looking vehicle, hence the Celerio X isn’t offered in colours like Silver or the regular White.

Maruti Celerio X (Cross) Price in India

There isn’t a major difference in the pricing of the new Celerio X and the refreshed Celerio. In terms of features, there is nothing new, apart from cosmetics. The Celerio X comes in four variants and two transmission options. The price range is Rs 4.59 lakhs to Rs 5.42 lakhs.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Cross (Celerio X) Dimensions

The dimensions of the Maruti Celerio X will be the same as the existing car. There will be no change. The height may increase marginally due to roof rails and not the ground clearance. However there is a minor increase in the length by 20mm and width by 35mm.

Maruti Celerio X (Cross) Specifications

The Celerio now comes with a 1.0-litre petrol engine that churns about 67bhp of power at 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 90Nm at 3,500rpm. This is offered with a five-speed manual and AMT options. This will not be coming with diesel and CNG options, as diesel has been discontinued and CNG is exclusively available only on the Celerio.

Maruti Celerio X (Cross) Mileage

The Maruti Celerio X will be a fuel efficient car just like the regular Celerio. It will have the same engine so there will not be any difference in the fuel efficiency. The car will return around 12km/l in the city and around 18km/l on the highway. This is however in real life driving conditions. The ARAI certified mileage of the Celerio is 24km/l.

Maruti Celerio X (Cross) Exterior

The cross version of the Celerio was first showcased at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. There has been a lot of anticipation in this segment as many buyers look at something different in this segment. The Kwid Climber is one of example of how a different colour changed the mind set of many. Hence, Maruti opted for a design like this. Somewhat rugged than the current Celerio and has better good presence too. The changes have been made to the design with some minor things here and there. A new front bumper, stylish side mouldings and rear bumper too.

There are roof rails and even new alloy wheels too. There is no change in the ground clearance of the Celerio X. It gets 5mm more height due to roof rails, 20mm increase in length and 35mm increase in width.

Maruti Celerio X (Cross) Interior

On the inside, the Celerio X will not get any changes either. The dashboard is the same like the current one. There will be body colour inserts to make it look sporty. There are is no addition of a single new feature on this hatchback cross.

The interior space also remains the same too. There will be not be difference as this is the spiced up version of the current hatch. The seats are also the exactly same.
