Maruti Celerio Limited Edition launched for ₹ 4.87 lakhs

The Maruti Celerio Limited Edition is here. This is an offering from the company to boost the numbers for this hatchback. Celerio is due to get a facelift in the coming months and Maruti will want to enhance its sales numbers and clear the stock. The same was done for the DZire, but that was an all new hatchback. This one shall have a facelift. The Celerio Limited Edition gets some cosmetic upgrades and there are no mechanical changes to it. The new Celerio has more features on offer and most these are minor add-ons.

Maruti Celerio has been in the market for a while and the company will want to enhance its numbers even further. The competition has caught up. The Tiago being the latest entrant in the segment has been getting very high attention. This product has changed the dynamics of the segment. It isn’t just offering more features, but even better value for money. This has made the Kwid segment also consider this hatchback.

The Celerio is more of a stylish version of the Wagon R, with most of its practicalities. The Limited Edition version is made available in petrol and CNG versions. Also, there is also the AMT variant on this edition.

The most important aspect in this segment in the pricing. The Celerio Limited Edition sees a jump in its price by about ₹ 11,990. Not this is basically the additional accessories that have been added on to the car. In reality, the price of the accessories is ₹ 20,000 when purchased from off the shelf. The price of this variant for VXi petrol manual is ₹ 4.87 lakhs.

Maruti Celerio Limited Edition Features

All the features on offer are dealer fitment. So, there isn’t anything extra ordinary in offering. We did expect atleast a touchscreen on this edition. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Maruti Celerio Limited Edition Specifications

A 998cc three-cylinder petrol engine also called as the K10B is used on the Celerio. The mechanicals on the Celerio are fantastic and that will not be altered. This engine has good performance and very good drivability. The need to shift gears isn’t very high. This is what makes it a good choice for driving in city. It is comfortable and stress free to drive. On the highway too, it is highly comfortable to cruise in. The Celerio AMT is also comfortable and convenient to drive. There is more than sufficient power multiplied with the add-on of AMT as well. Both the transmissions are five-speed ones.

With regards to the CNG engine, it is available with the same engine. The power and torque is lower than the petrol but not much difference in daily city driving.

Maruti Celerio Limited Edition Mileage

This is where Maruti’s are King! The Celerio returns about 20.36km/l as per the ARAI claim, while the Celerio CNG has a mileage of 31.79km/kg. Both of them are ARAI released numbers. The AMT is also almost the same in mileage.

The exterior styling of the Celerio hasn’t changed much. It is almost the same in its design. The Celerio is more of a stylish version of the Wagon R. It has the same tall boy design, but it doesn’t look boxy. It does get curves and other elements that it more appealing.

The interiors of the Celerio were fresh when it was launched. Today, it has aged as the competition is offering a lot more practicality in terms of stowage and there are many features also that go missing.

If we glad all this, then the Celerio is still a comfortable option. The seats are wide but could have had better support. The rear seats offer excellent head room and knee room too.
