New Nissan Micra 2019 coming to India

Last year, Nissan, the Japanese Car giant had showcased the new generation Micra at the Paris Motor Show. This new gen car is being now readied for an India launch. However, this will happen only in the year 2019.The current Nissan Micra will be discontinued by next year, to make way for the all new Nissan Micra 2019. The new Mincra is sort of a revolution in terms of design and styling. It looks very different from the existing models and uses a new design language.

As the trend of SUVs is rising, another trend that is growing is of premium hatchbacks. The shift and preference of buyers towards Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti Baleno is proof enough about emerging trends in the hatchback segment. The new Nissan Micra 2019 will fit into this category and will intensify competition.

Nissan’s Indian market operations have been lacklustre and they havent been getting any new models to dominate the market. The all-new Micra looks to be a promising car and comes with stylish design and razor sharp styling. This will itself create a pull for this car as it looks very futuristic. The new Nissan Micra 2019 is built on the CMF-B platform and this will underpin several other cars from the Renault-Nissan alliance. However, this platform may not make it to India and the New Micra may see the older platform doing duty in it.

New Nissan Micra 2019 India Launch Date

The next generation Nissan Micra is expected to be launched by mid to late 2019, in India. As of now the car will be made available in European and some other markets. Nissan may look at capitalizing on the festive season in 2019 with this new car launch.

New Nissan Micra 2019 Price in India

The New Nissan Micra 2019 will be priced between ₹ 6.5 lakhs and ₹ 11 lakhs (on-road). Nissan will try to keep the pricing competitive enough to rival the Baleno, i20 and Jazz. There will be different variants that will offer at various price points, in both petrol and diesel versions.

New Nissan Micra 2019 Specifications

The New Nissan Micra 2019 will get a 0.9-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and a a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. These engines will be made available for international models. The 0.9 litre petrol engine churns out 90bhp of power, while the 1.0-litre petrol unit belts out 75bhp of power. The diesel also has a maximum power of 90bhp. Al thee engines are very emission friendly and are Euro VI ready engines.

However, in India, The 0.9-litre petrol engine may come alongwith a reworked 1.5-litre diesel engine. There will be a five-speed manual transmission and also a CVT (only petrol) on offer. Nissan will focus on selling the petrol version more. The engines will offer very good performance and will also be tuned for good fuel efficiency.

New Nissan Micra 2019 Design

The new Nissan Micra 2019 is a paradigm shift in terms of design as compared to the current Micra. Not only does it have sporty tones, but it also looks very aggressive from all angles. It gets a huge front grille with a V shaped chrome element which is now a Nissan signature. The grill extends will the front bumper and looks mean. The headlamps are sharp looking ones and have projectors and also LED daytine running lights. The puffed up hood looks muscular and adds a lot of panache to the styling of the New Nissan Micra 2019. The front bumper looks very premium and seems borrowed from expensive sedans.

The side of this car has crisp and bold lines running. The ORVMS have turn indicators in them. There is a quarter window on the front windows. The alloy wheels also are of a bold design. The rising window line and the rear door that has its handle hidden in the C-pillar also is a classy touch. The rear looks very sporty too and the D-shaped taillamps also look very contemporary and the number plate is placed on the boot lid.

New Nissan Micra 2019 Interior

The New Nissan Micra 2019 gets brand new interiors. This car has no similarily to the existing model and the interiors look very premium. This includes a new dashboard which comes in dual tone colour theme. The instrument cluster also is new with two dials and a driver info system in between. The steering wheel is styling and has all controls on it. A 7-inch touchscrren system adorns the centre of the dahsboard. This will come with Android Auto and CarPlay. It will also get a high end audio system with 8 speakers.

The highlight of the New Nissan Micra 2019 however will be the space that it will offer, this will be more than the current model and will be comparable to the Elite i20. There will be enough legroom especially at the rear and it will also get rear AC vents.

New Nissan Micra 2019 Safety

The New Nissan Micra 2019 will come with twin airbags and ABS asa standard on all its variants. The international version has advanced features like High Beam Assist, Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Recognition, Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Around-View Monitor, Traffic Sign Recognition system and Blind Spot Detection. Many of these features will not make it into the Indian version.

New Nissan Micra 2019 Dimensions

The new Nissan Micra 2019 is in its fifth generation. This new car measures 3999mm in length, 1743mm in width, 1455mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2525mm. The new vehicle is now lower by around 55mm.

New Nissan Micra 2019 Competition

The New Nissan Micra will compete with the Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and Maruti Baleno mainly. All of these are successful cars and the Micra will have a tough job on its hands to grab market share from them. Hyundai will introduce the new Elite i20 next year and the Jaaz may also be due for a facelift by then.
