Kia has recently announced its arrival into India at the Auto Expo 2018. The Korean company had one of the most dazzling displays at the auto show. The first product to be introduced in India is the SP concept based vehicle. This SUV will be underpinned by the same platform of the next gen Creta. This new SUV will be important for Kia. Earlier, a Kia Soul test car was also spotted in West Bengal, when the company was doing its feasibility studies. Kia has its plant set up in Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh. Kia Soul Review
Kia Soul is the best seller from the Korean maker. Kis will commence its Indian operations soon. The delaer network is being set up currently. The Kia Soul will be priced around the Ford Ecosport and the Maruti Vitara Brezza. Both these will be the direct competing SUVs. The price will be between ₹ 7.5 lakhs to ₹ 12 lakhs (on-road). It will offer many premium features.
2019 Kia Soul Launch Date in India
Kia plans to introduce its cars in India by 2019. The new gen Kia Soul might be launched by mid or late 2019. It will follow the launch of the SUV based on the SP Concept. Its a bit to early to give an exact date, but this seems a likely period for the Kia Soul to come in. The compact SUV segment is growing fast and Kia will want to attack this segment as soon as possible. The first products to come out from the Kia brand will be SUVs.
Kia Soul Specifications
6-speed M / AT
A 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.4-litre diesel engine will do duty on the Kia Soul. This is a light SUV and will have good performance. The engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol engine will have an automatic option as well. Those looking for an automatic, will have another option in this segment. As of now only the Ford Ecosport offers an automatic variant in the segment. This will be the same engines and the chassis that shall be shared with the Hyundai Carlino. Hyundai and Kia shall be doing a lot of parts sharing and this will mean that both the companies will be working towards increasing their sales in India. There is also an electric version in the making.
Kia Soul Mileage
The petrol version is expected to return around 12 km/l in the city and around 17km/l on the highway. The diesel version is expected to return 14 km/l in the city and around 21 km/l on the highway.
Kia Soul Interiors
The Soul has a simple interior design. The styling is classic and has a large touchscreen dominating the centre console. There is automatic climate control and a three pod instrument cluster. The multi-functional steering wheel does look appealing and the design is neat. The top end variant will also get a leather wrapped steering. Space is good too in both the rows. This SUV will come with dual airbags and ABS as a standard feature. This will enhance the SUV’s safety. It will also offer features like Android Auto, Apple Car Play, MirrorLink, navigation and voice commands. The seats will be comfortable. It will have decent space at the rear as well.

The Soul looks stylish. With an aim to attract youngsters, the Kia Soul will differentiate itself from competition. The window lines are similar to the Mini Cooper of Maruti Swift.
