Kia Soul has been spotted on test in India. This is the Korean auto maker’s best seller across the world. The Kia Soul has been spotted in West Bengal and it had WB temporary certificate plates too. Now, it is true that Kia is working on a plan for the Indian car market and at the moment, it might be a bit too early to come to any conclusion. Kia hasn’t yet finalised its plant location in India. The company has been in talks with Andhra Pradesh government, but nothing is confirmed as of now.

Kia Soul Launch Date in India
Again, a bit to early to give an exact date, but sometime by mid 2019 is when the new Kia Soul could come in. The compact SUV segment is one of the hottest and Kia will want to have a go in this segment at the earliest. What drives this brand is support it shall receive from Hyundai.

Kia Soul Engines
A 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.4-litre diesel engine. These will be offered on this SUV and we reckon there will be an automatic on the petrol engine. This will make it a good option to consider as there has been a spike in automatic transmission sales. This will be the same engines and the chassis that shall be shared with the Hyundai B SUV or the i20 SUV or the Carlino. Hyundai and Kia shall be doing a lot of parts sharing and this will mean that both the companies will be working towards increasing their sales in India.

Kia Soul Design
With somewhat boxy styling, the Soul looks stylish. The design is very youth trendy and Kia has left no room to let anyone call it boring. The design is fresh and will appeal to the younger audience. The front looks sharp, while the rest of the styling is majorly boxy.

Kia Soul Interiors
The Soul has a simple interior design. The styling is again very classic with a large touchscreen dominating the centre console, climate control and a three pod instrument cluster. The multi-functional steering wheel does look appealing and the design is neat. Space is good too in both the rows. This SUV will come with dual airbags and ABS as a standard feature. This will enhance the SUV’s safety.
Kia Soul Competition
Not very difficult to answer. The Kia Soul will be competing with the Hyundai Carlino, Ford Ecosport, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Tata Nexon. The Fiat Avventura and the Hyundai i20 Active are also its competition to some extent.
