The top model Z+ will get projector headlamps and daytime running LEDs. The fascia looks stylish and mature.
The side profile is very much just like any other Swift. There are multiple bits on the 2018 Swift that are new. The roof is declining to the rear. The new design looks radical and stills carries the same design language. To begin with, the rear door handles are on the window. The C-pillar also has a funky black bit. The rear is subtle. There are a lot of elements added, with integrated rear spoiler. Then the tail lamps are also LEDs. The rear is simple looking with no lines running across. The license plate is also located on the rear bumper. The new Swift is shorter in height and it is wider as well. This is what makes it a seem bigger. This makes a major difference in its stance.
All new set of interiors are there on the 2018 Maruti Swift. The design is new and there are multiple changes in the styling. The dashboard has simple and neat design. The dashboard will be all black on the new-generation vehicle. The 2018 Swift will have more There are circular air-con vents, touchscreen system, climate control, three-spoke steering wheel with flat bottom and even controls on them. There shall be more features and comfort for rear passengers too, but there won’t an arm rest for them. The boot too on the Swift 2018 will be bigger. This new variant will be offering the extra bells and whistle. The other important aspect of the new hatchback is that now three people can sit more comfortably at the rear as the width has been increased.
5-speed manual & AMT
5-speed manual& AMT
A 1.2-litre K-Series engine is on duty as a petrol engine. This engine produces about 83bhp of power and 113Nm of maximum torque. This shall come bolted with a five-speed manual and AMT option. This engine has more than sufficient power and torque. As the new car is lighter, there is better performance and mileage too. At the same time, the Swift 2018 has one of the most powerful and efficient petrol engine. The NVH levels on this engine are very low and there is more than sufficient power to overtake without even downshifting.
The 1.3-litre DDiS engine churns 75bhp of power and 190Nm of peak torque. This also comes with five-speed manual and AMT options. The engine has good power and it is easy to drive in city without much changing of gears. Then the new car has more than sufficient power and this diesel engine will have good mileage. The insulation on the Swift will be similar to that of the DZire and this could mean that there will be some amount of diesel engine noise in the Swift’s cabin. This will enhance the new 2018 Swift and make it an exciting package.
Petrol (Company Claimed)
Diesel (Company Claimed)
The one of the strongest points of the new Swift 2018 is its engines. Not just the performance but even the mileage is good enough. The 1.2-litre petrol engine will return about 13km/l in the city for the manual and about 12.5 for the AMT. On the highway, petrol manual will return 17km/l and AMT will be the same too. The diesel manual in city returns 17km/l and 23km/l on the highway. The diesel AMT will return close to 16.5km/l in the city and 22.5km/l on the highway.
The 2018 Maruti Swift goes head on against the Hyundai Grand i10, Mahindra KUV100 and there are some variants that even overlap with the Maruti Ignis, Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20 and the Honda Jazz. Maruti’s this hatchback has been the best-seller and has been outselling the competition by a huge number. The same can be expected from the newer-generation hatchback also.
There isn’t a major change in the dimensions of the 2018 Swift. The Swift 2018 isn’t any longer than the current Swift, the change in minor. The bigger difference is the width and the wheelbase. This has made the car bigger and better. The ground clearance has reduced because of the new norms of measuring them from ARAI. Else, the ground clearance is the same for the new Swift as well.
