The engines remain the same in the Swift, but it now has a lighter chassis. This has a positive effect on the performance of the current engines and also to the fuel efficiency of the car. 2018 Maruti Swift’s major seller will be the 1.2-litre petrol K-Series engine. This is the most powerful in its segment and also fun to drive. The lighter body weight delivers better performance. It is difficult for competition to beat the Swift petrol in terms of its performance. It is quiet. There is no noise or vibrations at low or even high engine speeds. This is a gem of an engine indeed. There could be a Swift RS, but we aren’t sure when. Maruti could introduce it much later on.

2018 Maruti Swift side 1

The diesel is a 1.3-litre unit. This segment has been moving towards petrol for the last few years. However, the 2018 Swift diesel will be a good seller still.  Many consider it to be a good option even now. Also in smaller towns, people still prefer the diesel version. This engine has decent NVH, and it has good enough noise evident. The insulation is ok and still you can hear the engine at 3,000rpm. The 2018 Maruti Swift will have more than sufficient performance in both, just that the petrol will have better performance. The light body weight makes the engines perform even better.

Maruti Swift 2018 Variants

The new variants are Lxi, Vxi, Zxi and Zxi+ variants on petrol and even a diesel engines. So a total of eight variants. There will be four more variants with AMT, two on petrol and two on diesel. The Zxi+/Zdi+ will be new variants and shall offer more features. This one will see a major hike in the pricing and will overlap with base variants of the Baleno.

The Swift was first launched in 2005 and it had soon become one of the best sellers in the country, ever. In 2007 its diesel version was a game changer and upset the entire segment. The second-generation of this hatchback also got a very strong response and the numbers only kept growing. Now, the third-gen is preparing for another onslaught. There has been a lot of inquisitiveness in the market for this new hatchback.  The Indian market is the biggest markets for this car. The new Dzire was launched here first, to cash in on the compact sedan segment. Now, the company is focussing on the new Swift.

Ground Clearance

The overall length is identical, which is under 4 meters. The major change is in the width and even the wheelbase. The wheelbase sees an increase of 20mm, which is fairly good in this segment. As per the new ground clearance norms, there is a change in the numbers. The new norms are to fully-load the vehicle and then check the clearance. Due to this, all the cars see a reduction of about 20-25mm with ease. The 2018 Maruti Swift sees a reduction to 163mm, the same like the DZire 2017.

The new Swift is lighter than the earlier version by around 100kgs. It is wider and has a longer wheelbase as well. But it is still under 4 metres in length. The same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines are available  in the new Swift. This time there is an automatic (AMT) option as well, both in petrol and diesel. The biggest change is the new addition of features. The top end will be loaded with projector headlamps, daytime running LEDs, touchscreen system, reverse camera, navigation, Android Auto and even Apple CarPlay. The rear seat space is also more this time. The new Swift has dual airbags and ABS as a standard feature. This means better safety. The car comes prepared in order to adhere to new rules coming in.

2018 Maruti Swift Design

This hatchback looks very similar to the new DZire. The front gets a large grille but with minimal chrome. The headlamps are very stylish. The new Z+ variant gets projector lamps with daytime running LEDs also. The bonnet shape is crowned now and has strakes. There s more matte black on the front and round fog lamps too. The car is wider than the outgoing Swift. The wide appearance also makes it look more premium. New Maruti Swift RS rear

The silhouette is similar to the outgoing model. The Swift retains its core design philosophy, hence one can easily recognize it. The C-pillar is a blackened one. The rear door handle is mounted on the top and is hidden. The roof is sloping. Wheels are bigger and tyres are 15-inch this time. The rear has minimal lines too. License plate has been shifted to the bumper. Tail lamps are LED and attractive to look at. The new design looks fresh and has some new add-ons too. It has to be seen how well customers receive this new design. The rear glass appears to be smaller this time. There could be some elements, which might not be liked by all.

New Maruti Swift 2018 Interior

The interiors are similar to the new DZire. However, the Swift 2018 has all-black interiors instead of a dual colour theme. It has a sporty looking steering wheel with flat bottom. The higher models get leather-wrapped wheel too. There is no faux-wood finish like the Dzire. Instrument consists of two dials and driver information system too. This is identical to the Dzire. Centre console is made up of AC vents, touchscreen system and climate control. Touchscreen is the same like on any other Maruti vehicle. This has Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, reverse camera, navigation, bluetooth, USB and aux also. The mirrors are electrically adjustable too.

2018 Maruti Swift interior 1

Apart from quality, the increase in space is the biggest USP of the new Swift. The front seats offer better support too. The rear seats have improved knee room and seating comfort. The boot is a bit larger than before, not too much. This makes it a better space for rear passengers and carrying luggage. The luggage space increases by 58 litres, around 28% more than the second generation Swift. Around 24 mm more headroom, and a better seat back angle, further enhances the comfort in the rear seats.

Maruti Swift 2018 Colours

The colours on the new Swift 2018 are six of them. Following is the list

  • Prime Lucent Orange
  • SLD Fire Red
  • Prime Midnight Blue
  • Met Silky Silver
  • PRL Arctic White
  • Met Magma Grey

Maruti Swift 2018 Mileage

Petrol (Company Claimed)

21km/l

Diesel (Company Claimed)

27km/l

All Maruti’s rank high in terms of fuel efficiency. The petrol and the diesel engines have good efficiency. The petrol engine in manual avatar will return 13km/l in the city, AMT will be 12km/l. The diesel manual is about 17km/l and AMT is 16km/l in the city.

The power is good, but it is a bit jerky in AMT when you shift to a lower gear. Both the engines will come with 5-speed manual and AMT options. This will be another important product to top the sales chart in India.

Maruti Swift 2018 Competition

The competition of the Swift 2018 are majorly the Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Ignis, Ford Figo and even the Mahindra KUV100. The advantage that the 2018 Swift has apart from the brand value it enjoys will be the features it will offer. Most of these aren’t even available on the competition. These are the major competing cars. The Ford Ecosport, Vitara Brezza and even the Nexon somewhat overlap at some price points. So, we cannot ignore them not even the Baleno.

Motor octane team, does the prices mentioned are onroad prices or exshowroom? Dzire price hiked about 30-40k from old model to new. So next generation swift’s pricing might be biggest suspense. I am waiting for nextgenswift.

Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle becomes first ARAI certified electric 2 wheeler

Published

By

Revolt Intellicorp Smart motorcyce

The landscape of Indian automobiles is changing very rapidly. We are seeing smart cars, A.I enabled systems and more safety features make their way into vehicles. So why should bikes be left behind? The Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle aims to do something like that. Now they have added another feather in their hat – the company’s first offering becomes India’s first homologated electric motorcycle. The Smart Motorcycle gets an ARAI-certification of 156 kilometers. The motorcycle has also managed to pass several critical tests such as the gradient test, water-proof test and many others in the process of passing the homologation process. To know more scroll down.

Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle Launch

Headquartered in Gurgaon, Revolt Intellicorp Pvt. Ltd. has a manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana. A high-profile experienced R&D team based in Gurgaon headquarters has been working for close to 2 years with a joint vision of introducing India’s first AI-enabled motorcycle. The bike will be launched in June 2019.

Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle ARAI Homologation

Also, Revolt Intellicorp had conducted several stringent tests internally to ensure the best combination of performance and aesthetics. The product stood true to its promise during the Gradient Ability Test, where it went up to an incline smoothly at 10.2 degrees. The battery has gone through a foolproof, high-decibel internal testing process including tests performance, cycle life, nail penetration, shock, all-weather and waterproofing tests. Owing to this, the Lithium-ion battery of the new electric bike from the Revolt stable passed in a single attempt. The ARAI certified range is 156 km.

Revolt Intellicorp Smart motorcyce

Speaking about the achievement, Rahul Sharma, Founder – Revolt Intellicorp Pvt. Ltd., said, “When we started developing the product, we had to put together performance, form factor and aesthetics into a powerful package. We invested a lot of time testing it internally to make sure we have a winner before sending it to the ARAI. The speedy ARAI certification is a huge endorsement to our efforts over the last 2 years.”

Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle Price

Headquartered in Gurgaon, Revolt Intellicorp Pvt. Ltd. has a manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana. Spread over 100,000 square feet, the facility boasts a production capacity of 120,000 vehicles commissioned for Phase 1. The bike will command a bit of a premium, given the number of features it will be carrying. This bike will get A.I enabled smart connectivity features and a whole host of other features that will enrich the riders experience and prioritize safety. We think that the ideal price for this bike would be somewhere near Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakhs.

Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle Design

From the first sketch of the new motorcycle by Revolt Intellicorp Pvt. Ltd. showcases the perfect amalgamation of aesthetics and form factor. Designed by Shivam Sharma, Chief Designer- Revolt Intellicorp Pvt. Ltd., this will be India’s first AI-enabled motorcycle and looks nothing like any other electric two-wheeler in the market. While the sketches just show the front of the bike, for the front fascia it gets a projector unit that is vertically stacked. The headlights with LED DRLs on the sides. A pair of LED blinkers accompany the headlamp. The fascia is followed by the cockpit that includes a fully digital display. Moving on, the seat on the motorcycle looks like it’s been designed by keeping both rider and pillion comfort in mind. The upcoming bike from Revolt will feature a full-digital dash and, considering this will be India’s first AI-enabled, LTE-connected motorcycle, it will be interesting to see what the console will be capable of. Also seen is a headlight that comprises a projector and a regular LED setup.

The battery pack and motor are placed behind the fibre panels, and the final product is likely to retain this layout. Revolt Intellicorp has said that it will use the imported battery pack and the motor. The in-house team will develop the Battery Management System and Electronic Control Unit for the motorcycle. The saddle gets a single piece design instead of a split finish. It looks large enough to accommodate two adults comfortably. The pillion grab rail gets a brushed aluminium finish and a compact design. The rear of the motorcycle is not visible in the photographs, but it would be safe to assume that it gets LED tail lamp and blinkers.Revolt Smart Motorcycle

Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle Features

The upcoming electric motorcycle would feature LTE connectivity via a SIM card that would enable smart functions. We expect features like navigation, Bluetooth, crash alert and more to be present on the Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle.

Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle instrument cluster

Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle Power and Range

While power figures are unknown, we do know that the Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle will get a tremendous torque number which will be available from the get-go. The bike will get a limited top speed of 85km/h and an ARAI tested range of 156km. This is phenomenal because compared to the premium Ather 450, Revolt’s offering can go for nearly 40km further. This is enough for everyday use in the city. The Revolt electric motorcycle does not have a gearbox so it will not require a clutch. In the spy shot we do see, the bike sports a lever where the one for the clutch. There is also a brake fluid master cylinder. This could mean the front and rear both have hand operated brakes. The bike gets USD forks, a monoshock and a front disc brake. We expect dual channel ABS on it as standard. Revolt Intellicorp will install a charging infrastructure across Delhi-NCR, where it plans to sell this model first.

Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle Competition

The Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle will compete with the upcoming bikes from Tork Motors and the Ultraviolette F77.

Revolt Intellicorp Smart Motorcycle Who Are They?

Revolt Motors is the next-gen mobility company, created for the smart world. Revolt is working with a vision of democratizing clean commute using next-gen mobility solution and a mission to create a future of next-gen mobility with 100% accessibility and 0% fuel residue. With technology at its roots and a class-apart product in the works, Revolt is soon going to introduce India’s first AI-enabled motorcycle without compromising on the performance or aesthetics of a regular ride.

By

Renault-Triber-MPV-2019

Renault Triber is the official name for the RBC concept. The Renault Triber 2019 will be a seven-seater MUV. The car is expected to be a volume churner for Renault and could be a shared product for the Alliance of Nissan and Renault. The car has been spotted testing in spy shots that have surfaced and also have shown the interiors. The camo used in the covering of this car is also interesting and has got a very outdoorsy and adventure vibe to it. Renault wants to project the car as an adventure-oriented vehicle. The Triber is going to get a premium and an upmarket interior too. The car will be given a lot more features than the competition. The Renault Triber 2019 will also be priced very strategically.

While the launch details and other specifications can be found below, here are 5 points that are the most important details of the upcoming Triber –

  • This will be based on the Kwid platform which means the CMF-A platform will see some modifications.
  • The has been specially been built for India in India. It will have a modular design.
  • The car is touted to the 1.0-litre petrol engine with a higher performance tune and could also get the 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both engines will be introduced with manual gearboxes. The petrol engine could spot an AMT.
  • In terms of safety, we will see the car come with ABS, EBD, ESP and 2 airbags as standard. Renault could add more safety features like four disc brakes and other stuff as standard.

Renault Triber 2019 Launch Date

The second half of 2019, this is when the new MPV is expected. Renault is looking at enhancing its sales network and getting unique products too. With this new product, Renault will be looking at capturing the private taxi market. A good option for city dwellers too. It will enhance the ability to carry more people in a vehicle with a footprint of a hatchback.

Renault Triber 2019 Price in India

The Renault Triber will be priced at about ₹6.5 lakhs to ₹INR 11 lakhs (on-road). This will not have a direct competitor. This is the exact kind of segment Renault will be looking at capturing. This will be possible as the CMF-A platform has been localized and this will help to reduce the cost and make it better value for money. Instead of getting an all-new compact SUV, Renault is looking at exploring the compact MUV with MPV practicality and hatchback-like usability. Renault is making the Triber specially for India and the car will be locally manufacturered.

They will want a car like this to get back in the MUV game. The Renault Lodgy is not performing to the levels of which the automaker would like to see it perform. With the Triber, Renault will have some ground rules, objectives and goals in mind. This car then should have the following points covered –

  • The Triber will be bigger than the Ertiga.
  • It will get dual-zone climate control.
  • An economical power unit which will be an upgraded engine from the Kwid.
  • And it will highly be localized.
  • Will you wait for the Kwid? What features will it pack? Scroll down to find out. This is bigger than the Go+ but smaller than the Ertiga.

Renault Triber 2019 Video

Renault Triber 2019 Engine

The Triber will get the 3 cylinders 1.0-litre engine of the Kwid. It will make a lot more power on the 7 seater car. It will get a 5-speed manual and AMT too. The 1.5-litre diesel engine could be a second engine option for a diesel variant. The Renault Triber 2019 will be offered with petrol and diesel engine options. The company is looking at adding a lot more options to the transmission. There will be a five-speed manual and AMT as well. The petrol should churn about 90bhp of power and the diesel about 85bhp. These will be offered on the Renault Triber. We can expect features like ABS, EBD and dual airbags offered on this car as standard. Even though it’s a huge ask, four disc brakes would be a welcome addition with the Marazzo being the first car in this segment to get four disc brakes as standard (Innova is in another price range with more features standard) at a low price point.

Renault is looking at adding this new MPV into the Indian car market by mid-2019. It has plans to get more vehicles on the CMF-A platform. After the Kwid this will be the first product for the French company on this platform. The car will sit below the Duster in the Renault line-up.

Renault Triber 2019 Platform

Designed on the CMF-A+ platform, the Triber will be just around four-meters in length. Renault has been highly successful with the Kwid and the CMF-A platform. The company already has 1.25 lakhs bookings for the Kwid, despite its limited dealership network. The CMF-A+ is a modified platform that can house bigger size vehicles and larger engines. This will help Renault to retain a high level of localization.

Renault Triber 2019

Renault Triber 2019 Features

The Renault Triber 2019 will have a lot of features in the offering. This will be the first proper seven-seater MPV that will be under 4 meters. At the moment, there is no other vehicle in this segment. The current and the next Ertiga will be in excess of 4 meters in length and the Datsun Go+ is 5+2 seater. Renault is looking at applying the Lodgy space concept on its all-new MPV.

The MPV is bound to pick up its styling cues from the Renault Kwid. When it comes to its proportions, Renault will also look at the Lodgy for some inspiration in space management. This car will sit below the Lodgy in the companies’ line-up. When it comes to proportions it will be interesting to see how the car will look. The overall car is going to be bigger than the Ertiga. Renault will look at the Captur for some design ideas when it comes to Triber’s front look to have a more butch and aggressive stance. There could also be the use of a lot of body cladding. The exterior should have a tougher look than its rivals. The car is also going to mostly have a fascia that resembles the Captur in many ways. Color options could have the existing colors that are offered with the Kwid.

Renault Triber 2019

Renault Triber 2019 Colors

-Electric Blue

-Fiery Red

-Moonlight Silver

-Planet Grey

-Ice Cool White

-Outback Bronze

These colors are also available with the Kwid and some of these colors most of them are available with the Renault Captur and the Duster. These color options will also be available on the Renault Triber2019.

This car could also be the second car to get the climber treatment like the Kwid.

Renault Triber 2019 Competition

This car will be in direct competition with the Datsun Go+. Now there are no plans of launching the Maruti WagonR seven-seater in India but with the competition bringing out with such a car, Maruti could rethink their strategy. The car will be an expansion of the Renault line-up that will make the buyer pool more diverse.

Base ₹7 lakh – ₹8 lakh
Mid ₹9 lakh – ₹10 lakh
Top ₹10 lakh – ₹12 lakh

Before we get into any more details about the Hyundai Venue, it is important to know how much will it cost. Price is one of the most important aspects of a vehicle. This will be a compact SUV and it will be offered in the price range of ₹8 lakhs to about ₹12 lakhs. It will be competing with other compact SUVs in this price point. There will be not much difference in the pricing.

Hyundai VENUE

The Hyundai Venue looks bold and stylish. The LED headlamps and taillamps look neat and so does the interior. Check out the gallery below with the official sketches of the car. Also, check out specifications and features in the story below.

The car will be made in India and will be exported to many countries. Check out the picture below of the name and badging. The latest news is about how the Hyundai Venue is going to be launched in the upcoming few months and it is going to be India’s first ‘smart SUV’. So how will it be a smart SUV? The car has been enabled by Hyundai’s BlueLink technology. The technology will include the following functions –

  • In build eSim by Idea Vodafone for seamless connectivity
  • 10 India specific functions
  • SOS, RSA & BlueLink button inbuilt for easy access
  • Key Focus on safety, Security, Vehicle Relationship management and more. (see table below for more information)
  • The first car in India with a Panic Button

Hyundai Venue Blue Link

The companies new marketing slogan with this car is – #WhenYouLoveToExplore. There was a promo shown last week that shows the car leaving the Chennai factory on a trip throughout the nation. The shots shown in the video, give us a sneak peek into the car and its design. The headlights get DRLs integrated into them. The top variant will get a sunroof and the taillights are very Hyundai Cretaisque. The Hyundai Venue will be the SUV that is going up against the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport and the Tata Nexon. This will be an all-new design to capture the compact SUV market.

The design while being new will be heavily inspired by the elder sibling, the Hyundai Creta. Venue appears to have a lot of  Creta design in its window, design profile, and roof rails. It also appears have got new alloy wheels which will benefit the distinguishing this car from it’s an elder sibling, the Creta. Under the camouflage, we can see that the wheel arches are a bit more aggressive and make the car look wider. Hyundai has been gaining ground in every segment of the market and beating some in important segments. The car will be coming next year and be a very crucial launch for the manufacturer. This car s being developed in India and South Korea simultaneously. The car was seen testing in North America too.

Hyundai Venue BlueLink Technology

Hyundai says that the technology has been specially tested and developed with India in mind. The SOS, Road Side Assistance and BlueLink button are on the Inside Rear View. The company is going to try and beat MG to the punch on introducing such technologies. The MG Hector is also going to come in with these technologies. While we will know more about the MG in the coming week and the technology on offer. We now know that the Hyundai Venue will be able to monitor live traffic and will also be able to perform other functions like find my car and send distress messages to family members and loved ones. The Venue will also have a chauffeur mode and a geo-fencing ability. With these features and abilities, the car will have added functions like Find My Car. The feature that is really going to be a hit is the remote start function of this car. The car can be started remotely via an app and the temperature can be set according to what climate is prevailing. The car will have a total of 33 such features.

Hyundai Venue Spy Shots

Hyundai has already started testing this new car in the country. Spy shots of the Hyundai Venue testing have surfaced some time back and we had shared them first with you. The car was earlier spotted testing in South Korea and North America last year. With these new shots of the car coming to light, the car looks like it’s is taking a lot of styling and design inspiration from the bigger Hyundai Creta. The car is looking to shape up more in-tune with the Hyundai families design in mind. The rear tail lamps look like they are smaller and sleeker versions of the Creta’s tail lamps.

The below pictures of the car are from the rear. The car has been spotted testing again. we will add here that the car has a great amount of inspiration from the Creta, and some might look at it as a mini Hyundai Creta.

The below images will give one a proper understanding of the design and size of the car. The car looks like it’s trying to keep up with the Carlino concepts squared off edges and boxy and tall looks. The rear looks inspired by the Creta to no end and the front is a new face with a new grille design.

On the inside, we can see that the car gets  Creta like seats and big storage area in the centre console. The seats have adjustable headrests and the car has a full on black interior. This will be changed for production. The car could get a dual tone beige interior like the Creta, It will get buttons and bits on the dashboard that will come from more premium models in the llineup

 Hyundai Venue Design

The compact SUV concept was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo as the Hyundai Carlino concept. This SUV had boxy styling. Something normally associated with the traditional looks one wants in an SUV. The final product from the concept’s design is cleaner with sleeker and better lines. That is what even the Creta is all about. If you look at the front of this SUV, you shall notice the large front-grille and sleek headlamps.

If we see the spy shots we can see a lot of the design cues from the concept vehicle have been carried on into the production version of the car. The Hyundai Venue looks like it will be borrowing space and practicality in design from its elder sibling the Hyundai Creta. This is Hyundai’s first compact SUV and Hyundai has delayed its MUV plan to get the one faster. There will be some elements from the Carlino concept; however, this will be an all-new SUV in design. The Hyundai Venue will have technology, function and fashion as it three important pillars. The wheel arches are muscular too.

Hyundai Styx side

Hyundai Venue Interior

The Hyundai Venue will have macho looks and not a crossover like the design. The Carlino concept showed squarish wheel arches, large size wheels, high ground clearance (at least 195mm) and aggressive styling. The Venue will be a vehicle for daily work use on weekdays and adventure trips on the weekend. So, it will have good space in both the rows and even the boot space should be better than the competition (Just what Hyundai did with the XCent). The length of the Hyundai Venue will be under four meters.

On the inside, it will have good enough space in both rows. Hyundai has been focusing on enhancing the rear seat space on most of its products, like the Grand i10, i20 and the XCent. The Grand i10 was modified for the Indian car market to increase its wheelbase and rear seat knee room. The boot size too will be large enough for a vehicle of this segment. One of the best bits will be the features on offer. Hyundai will be offering best-in-class features. Hyundai Venue seating capacity is for 5 people only.

The car will get a new dashboard with crisper lines than the large and flowing Creta dashboard. It will get the same infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car will get a good amount of storage spaces too. The Venue could also get a sunroof and 6 airbags in its top variant. This will be a good safety measure and also something Hyundai should offer as Mahindra will be offering 7 airbags on the upcoming XUV300.

Hyundai Styx sunroof

Hyundai Venue Specifications

Hyundai has announced that the Venue will be getting a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which will make 116bhp of power. This is the same engine that does duty on the i20 abroad. With Ford offering the Ecoboost engine on the Ecosport. This will be an exciting engine for the Indian market. Tata Nexon has been doing well in the Indian market with its petrol engine. Possibly, this will be an example that Hyundai shall be offering lesser power for better mileage. This engine will come mated to a six-speed manual transmission and there will be an automatic or AMT on offer too. The AMT gearbox could be the one that was offered on the Hyundai Santro recently.

In the diesel, there will be the 1.4-litre diesel producing about 95-100bhp of power. The Hyundai Venue will be sold with these two engines. There will be six-speed manual and even a six-speed automatic transmission that will be offered on both the engines. That is when the compact SUV segment will get something new. There is an option for the petrol automatic but no diesel automatic at the moment. The diesel will be the major seller in this segment. The Korean automaker also has a 1.2-litre diesel engine, but we aren’t certain if that will make it into production anytime soon.

Hyundai Venue Mileage

              Hyundai Venue Mileage

Petrol 17km/l
Diesel 22km/l

Hyundai Venue Competition

The Hyundai Venue competes with the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Honda WRV, Ford Ecosport and the upcoming Mahindra XUV300. This is one segment that is on the rise and at the moment is one of the fastest growing. Hyundai Venue will add more variety for car buyers and an opportunity to upgrade to an SUV instead of a premium hatchback. Hyundai’s strategy will be to price the vehicle at par with Maruti Suzuki and at the same time even offer more added value for its compact SUV. This has what Hyundai has been targeting with its new products. The competition has now become stiff as other compact SUVs have now upped the game.

2020 Hyundai Creta could take inspiration from the ix25 concept

Published

on

By

2020-hyundai-ix25-2020-hyundai-creta

The Hyundai Creta is one of the most popular cars in the Indian market. The car came to India in 2014 and was an instant hit with buyers. It is manufactured in Hyundai’s Tamil Nadu factory along with cars like the Eon, Grand i10, new-gen Verna, Elantra, Tucson, i20 Active and the i20. This year with the Creta, we saw a much-needed facelift for the car. With that, we also got a new engine in the form of the 1.6-litre petrol mated to an automatic gearbox. The facelift has made two top variants, SX and SX (O) feature loaded. The Hyundai Creta 2020 is now the car we look forward to. The Hyundai Creta’s next-generation model premiered as the ix25 SUV at the ongoing 2019 Shanghai Motor Show. Accompanying the all-new Hyundai ix25 at the debut was the new-gen model of the Hyundai Sonata. The carmaker noted that both cars will lead the way for the company’s new design tenet – Sensuous Sportiness. The car will get more features, more safety features and will be bigger. The car is currently smaller than the XUV500 and Harrier in its class. This could change with the ix25.

Hyundai Creta ix25 front

The Hyundai Creta 2020 will not have the same platform as the current generation car. It will have the same engine options mostly. But with the ix25 design and features will be a big update for this car. The Creta will have to watch it’s back with the upcoming MG Hector, Kia SP and the

Hyundai Creta 2020 Price in India

The price of the Hyundai Creta 2020 will more or less remain the same. There will be a slight increase in price. The Hyundai Creta will be competitive.

Hyundai Creta 2020 Price (On-road)
Base variant Rs 12 lakhs
Top variant Rs 18 lakhs

Hyundai Creta 2020 Launch

The car will be launched in the middle of next year. Hyundai will want to first show it at the 2020 Auto Expo too.

Hyundai Creta 2020 Design

Dimensions, size, and most exterior elements will increase. Weight will come down. Looking at the ix25 design, the car will be a great looking car. It also looks like Hyundai is going for the blown up headlamp configuration like the Hector and the Harrier. Weirdly, the car we see here looks very close to the production version with its door handles. The diamond cut alloy wheels with 18-inch tyres look very attractive.

Hyundai Creta 2020 Interior

The interior might receive new color options. The silver and beige combination on the current Creta looks dull and Hyundai should consider adding some better options and replacing it on the Hyundai Creta. The seats too will receive an update with fabric and leather options. This Creta already comes with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. We also expect the new BlueLink system to be added to this car. The car will also get more unique features that will be segment firsts.

2020-hyundai-ix25-2020-hyundai-creta-interior

Hyundai Creta 2020 Mileage

When it comes to mileage, the Creta diesel will return 18km/l in the city to 22km/l on the highway. The petrol will do 12km/l in the city to 15km/l on the highway. (all ARAI figures)

Manual Automatic
Petrol 13km/l to 16km/l 12km/l to 15km/l
Diesel 18km/l to 22 km/l 15km/l to 18km/l

Hyundai Creta 2020 Specifications

Engine options will remain the same with the diesel getting the 1.4-litre and 1.6litre options. The newly introduced petrol option is the 1.6-litre engine which also gets an automatic gearbox. The additional features that are available with the 1.6-litre auto over the SX manual are cruise control, auto dimming rear view mirror and 17-inch alloys. There could be a new petrol engine that could be offered too.

 Hyundai Creta 2020 Competition

The Creta never really faced any completion and was in a segment of its own. But with big SUVs like the Tata Harrier, XUV 500 and lifestyle SUVs like the Jeep Compass coming in at its price point there cannot be said much about it not having completion. Upcoming cars like the MG Hector, Kia SP and brands like Citroen will make sure that Creta is always on its toes.

MG Hector headlights

The MG Hector is a hotly anticipated car from the manufacturer. In the recent I-Drive event, organized by MG, the company revealed the cars I-Smart infotainment system and showed us pictures of the car in its production form. There were no images of the interior of the car but there was the complete exterior of the car that was revealed. The car has been recently spotted in the flesh with no camo. This is the production form of the MG Hector.

MG Hector Front

To learn more and see more pictures scroll down and check out the story below.

MG Hector Key Features

MG Hector! The name ‘Hector’ draws inspiration from the noble qualities of the Trojan warrior hero – Prince Hector of Troy. It pays homage to great British engineering tradition, as a nod to the Royal Hector biplane, used by the Royal Air Force in the 1930s. But after today it seems that the name is the only historical bit about this car. The Hector is going to come with a lot of features packed in its I-Smart system that will be made with the help of it’s partners as mentioned above. The cars biggest and most impressive feature is going to be the voice assist and the app-based integrations offered by the MG.net app. The voice assist wakes up as soon as one says – ‘Hello MG’ and the car can control and perform a host of features like – Air Conditioning, Music, sunroof open-close and a lot more. You can perform more tasks than a normal voice assist which only reads out messages or places calls. The Pulse-Hub concierge service helps in finding restaurants, placing orders and doing payment transactions too. The system also has an E-Call feature that helps in emergencies. The

Here are 8 things we think you should know about the upcoming Hector –

  • The MG Hector Will be available with both petrol and diesel engines
  • It is bigger than the Harrier and the Tuscon (scroll down for dimensions)
  • it will be highly localized, MG claims 75% localization
  • The car will get more premium with soft-touch materials, first in class features and a 12.1-inch touchscreen
  • it will be available with a subscription service
  • It will be available with MG’s I-Smart system that has been developed with several new technologies
  • It will have remote start stop availble
  • The MG Hector will get a personalized experiance for buying and servicing of the car

Coming back to the I-Smart technology on the car, the MG Hector gets a large 10.4-inch touchscreen that acts as the center console of the car.  It will also get tech connectivity features like eSIM which is in collaboration with Airtel. The car gets OTA (Over The Air) technology and updates. The OS, experience, apps and interface of this system is developed by MG India in collaboration with companies like Airtel, Cisco, Adobe, AccuWeather Microsoft, SAP, Nuance, Ganna, Panasonic and TomTom

MG Hector Launch

MG will launch this product in India next year, around April. The vehicle will be made in the MG’s Halol plant. As we have known the Bajoun SUV has been spotted testing in India many times now. This will the first product to be launched in India by MG. MG will be then launching a product every year in India. For the Hector, MG will be launching the car in mid-2019.

MG Hector Price

So the diesel motor that will be used in the MG SUV will be the Fiat units used in the Jeep Compass. The size of the car will be close to that of the Hyundai Tuscon and the Honda CRV. These attributes paired with a strong pricing strategy will make the MG brand unstoppable. The car is looking to slot itself in the Rs 15 lakhs to Rs 20 lakhs price range. This price range will be a very strong and competitive price segment to get into. With that kind of pricing the car car will be competing with the Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the Mahindra XUV500.

MG Hector top variant Rs 20 lakhs

MG Hector Interior and Design

The interior first! This is where as seen above we have come across some spy shots of the front row of the cars being tested under camouflage. The car looks like it’s borrowing details like the air vents, instrument cluster, door handles and the handbrake lever from it’s SAIC cousins the MG Baojun 530 and the Roewe RX5. The car will get a sunroof, ambient lighting, a digital instrument console and features like lane assist, park assist and 6 airbags for safety. The front driver seat will be electrically adjustable too. Its exterior styling will be very close to the Baojun 530 and will have many design element s from other SAIC products. The interior is likely to be upmarket and plush too, with leather seats, soft-touch materials on the dashboard and chrome surround for the AC vents.

There is some speculation that the Hector will actually be based on the Chevrolet Captiva. The most interesting part of the spy shots(scroll below) is the Hector’s big Tesla like touchscreen and it looks like the car will get a manual gearbox option in India.

MG Hector headlights DRL

The car will also get a DRLs which will turn into turn signals like the Harrier. The below image shows us how this DRL will be an individual unit, separate from the main headlight cluster.

 MG Hector Features

Another new development is that the car will have tech connectivity features like eSIM. The upcoming MG cars aim at offering a connected mobility experience that would be able to do almost everything that a smartphone can. The OS on this car will be designed to behave in complete pairing with the phone. So a feature like Mirror-Link too can be seen. The platform will not just be able to inform drivers about cars health but can also provide passenger health information. With an eSIM, the MG Hector will offer always-connected experience with navigation, apps, multimedia and transactions as well. This connected car is IPv6 ready and is OTA-enabled. This is similar to getting OTA updates on smartphones and MG could push out software features and inform drivers about the health of car parts, etc directly. OTA mobility is something seen on Tesla cars. And while having its own operating system, it will come with a separate app for Android and iOS.

MG Hector roof

 MG Hector Specifications

The premium car that will be the MG Hector is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel. The manual gearbox is expected to be a 6-speed unit while the automatic is most likely to be a dual-clutch set-up. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol in the MG Hector is going to produce 143bhp of power along with 250Nm of peak torque. Both engines will be sourced from Fiat. The Jeep Compass’ diesel motor will do duty on the MG SUV too. Recently a bunch of MG SUV’s have been spotted along with a Hyundai Tucson. This shows that the Chinese automaker is benchmarking its first Indian product against the premium Hyundai offering. MG Motor India MD, Mr Rajeev Chaba has revealed that the SUV is a mid-sized C segment SUV. It is not a Hyundai Creta or Jeep Compass rival in any way, but a much bigger and a more premium offering.

Apart from this, the car will get 17-inch alloy wheels from the base variant.

MG Hector Dimensions

Measuring 4,655mm in length, 1,835mm in width and 1,760mm in height, the MG is longer and taller than Tata’s Land Rover-platform-based Harrier and even the Hyundai Tucson. As the Hector will only have seats for five, expect a roomy cabin and a large boot.

MG Hector

MG Hector Subscription

British car manufacturer MG Motors is set to make its entry in India and has collaborated with Indian car-rental service, Myles cars. This collaboration will help customers hire MG Motors’ first entry in India and their latest SUV, the Hector.MG says that this partnership will allow the company to leverage the existing network of Myles across 21 cities, once the company launches its first model in Q2, 2019. This will be in addition to MG’s own network of 110 sales and service dealerships at the start of sales.

This collaboration is an effort by MG Motors to cater to the evolving requirements of the new age customers, as per Rajeev Chaba, President & Managing Director, MG Motor India. The company also plans to extend the subscription model to its second launch, a full-fledged electric vehicle, by the end of this year.

Above we can see spy shots of the interior of the car and the car being tested in the demanding high altitude regions of Himachal Pradesh.

Citroen C5 Aircross scores 4 stars in Euro NCAP crash test results

citroën_c5_aircross_2019 crash

Citreon has officially entered India. The Citroen C5 Aircross will be the first car to be launched by the brand in the Indian market. This car will be a premium SUV or as Citroen calls it, a Comfort Class SUV. It is going to compete with the kinds of the Hyundai Tucson and the Jeep Compass. The car as you will further read the story is actually larger in dimensions than the other two. Now we have got a detailed walk around video of this car on our channel and you can see it above too. The latest development with this car has been its Euro NCAP crash results. To know more about the results, scroll down now.

Citroen C5 Aircross front

The Citroen brand has been a topic of discussion and debate for some time now. Group PSA took the right decision with going with the French automaker rather than Peugout which had left the country abruptly and in fact never repaid customers who had made down payments on cars. So the re-entry into India in the form of Citreon is the right move for Group PSA. Citreon is here in India with a collaboration with CK Birla. The company has been in India since a few years now and the Housar plant in Chennai has already begun to make engines for export.

So what is the Citroen Aircross? When is it launching here? Will this car make a dent in the Indian market? Scroll down and read the story below.

Citroen C5 Aircross Safety

According to the officials of the Euro NCAP, e C5 Aircross remained stable in the frontal offset test. n. In the side barrier impact, protection of all critical parts of the body was good and the car scored maximum points. A geometric assessment of the rear seats also indicated good whiplash protection. Overall for safety the C5 Aircross scored 87% for the Adult Occupant, 86% for the Child Occupant, 58% for Pedestrians and  75% for Safety Assist.

Citroen C5 Aircross Launch

The Citroen C5 Aircross will be the brand’s first car in India, it is a bold choice. The car is not an entry-level vehicle and will command a premium price. The company, however, is not launching the car now. The car will be brought to the masses next year. The brand will want to build a presence in the sub-continent as Kia and MG did in the beginning. The car will also be localized and the will not be sold as a CBU or CKD to us. Manufacturers have realized how key it is to have localization in India. The Citroen C5 Aircross will launch in India in the year 2020. The company is looking up to 98% localization. There is an also going to be 90% localization for the engine and transmission in India.

Citroen C5 Aircross Price in India

The price as I mentioned above will be a premium one. But the one thing that Citreon has to keep in mind is that the level of localization required to make the product a force to be reckoned in the market with is going to have to be very high. The car will need to be priced at the same level as the Jeep Compass and the lower than the Hyundai Tucson to make itself look like the viable and value-for-money alternative. The top-end of this car should be not more than Rs 20 lakhs according to us. If this pricing can be achieved, we think the company will be off to a good start.

Citroen C5 Aircross Design

The styling of the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV shouts powerful and strong attitude. It is immediately recognizable as an SUV in terms of its design and dimensions, measuring 4.50m long, 1.84m wide and 1.67m high, with a ground clearance of 230mm. It is available with a range of 17-inch, 18-inch and 19-inch wheels. We know that in India only 1 option will be on offer, the 18-inch wheels. The broad and imposing front end is classic Citroën with a two-tier full-LED light signature and an assertively designed grille. The upper light units, which comprise the daytime running lights and indicators, extend out from the iconic chevrons that stretch across the entire width of the vehicle. The lights at the top are paired perfectly with the lower lighting units. Together they give Citroen C5 Aircross a look many have compared to the Tata Harrier and the MG Hector. Colorful inserts bring the front end to life and underline the vehicle’s unique character, similar to the recent Citroen C3, New C3 Aircross, New C4 Cactus and New Berlingo. These powerful graphic elements are distinctive markers of the new Citroen range. All of this is topped off with a floating roof, glazed area wrapping 360° around the vehicle, thanks to gloss black A and B pillars and gloss black quarter-lights. The uninterrupted glass surface is emphasized by the chrome ‘C’ signature on each side of the car, reflecting the spacious interior. The body features wheel arches and lower body panels with a classic SUV look, highlighted by the graphic shapes of the Airbump® panels with colored inserts for extra modernity and personality. The raised rear lights, with four 3D LED modules on each side of the vehicle, create a graphic and high-tech light signature. The rear bumper is enhanced with two chrome tailpipes, one on either side.

The Citroen C5 Aircross SUV’s cabin immediately suggests comfort with a high-set driving position for a commanding view of the road. This is a spacious environment which is consistent with the exterior styling. The feeling of space and refinement is reinforced by the horizontal design themes in the cabin. The dashboard features a thermocoated strip that extends across the entire width of the car. A colored strip on the upper part of the seats adds a further touch of differentiation. The high-end interior of the C5 Aircross combines style and a relaxed atmosphere. The generous dashboard is punctuated by double air vents highlighting the SUV’s muscular aspect. On the driver’s side, the instrument panel features a 12.3-inch customizable TFT digital screen with three different graphic styles. The selected driving information is located directly within the driver’s field of vision, improving comfort and safety. 2020-mahindra-thar-front-three-quarters

New Mahindra Thar 2020 Spy Shots

A camouflaged version of the New Mahindra Thar 2020 has been spotted testing by a leading publication. Launched in 2010, the Thar is due for a generation change. The current car will certainly not be able to meet new crash test norms coming in 2020. Thus, Mahindra has started working on a new generation car which has now been spotted.

The above image shows a wider body of the Mahindra Thar. The image shows the car with a bigger body and a wider wheel arches. The windscreen is bigger too. The car also seams the old halogen headlamps, but we can expect the production car to get projector units. There is a new shorter bumper too.

The car also right now seems to have pre-production indicators and taillamps. The car is very wide now. And even the windscreen is now fixed and cannot fold.

New Mahindra Thar 2020 Competition

The Mahindra Thar is going to pull more crowds when it is launched in a brand new generation than it is already achieving. People still by the Mahindra Thar for being more user-friendly and having some creature comforts than the Force Gurkha. The Thar triumphed over the Gypsy with its engine, capability and Maruti’s reluctance to market and sell the Gypsy. But with Maruti planning to get the Jimny to India soon and Force Motors upping the capability of the Gurkha, a New Mahindra Thar 2020 on the horizon is good for Mahindra.

Ford and Mahindra partnership: Ford to end independent India business with new Mahindra deal

2018 Mahindra XUV500 launch

2019-Ford-Endeavour-

Ford and Mahindra partnership – Ford to expand business through Mahindra

It’s been almost a year since the strategic alliance was announced that will help Ford expand its product line-up in India and will allow Mahindra to revamp its portfolio too. Now there is some more news.  Ford is nearing a deal with Mahindra & Mahindra to form a new joint-venture company in India, a move that will likely see the U.S. automaker cease independent operations in the country. In this new deal, the situation is of Ford will form a new unit in India in which it will hold a 49 percent stake, while Mahindra will own 51 percent. will form a new unit in India in which it will hold a 49 percent stake, while Mahindra will own 51 percent.

With Ford already have invested around 2 billion dollars over the past 2 decades and will be handing over existing facilities and staff to Mahindra to decide and how to run.

Ford and Mahindra partnership – First SUV coming in 2020

We guess the initial plan to build cars along with each other is still on. The Ford and Mahindra partnership was initially to build two SUVs together, with an electric version of the Ford Aspire compact sedan also being part of the joint activities. The electric version of the Ford Aspire will use the technology from Mahindra which has had experience selling the E2O electric hatchback in India. Both, Ford and Mahindra are very interested compact SUV segment. Besides the full-size SUV, the Endeavour, Ford has the Ecosport and the Freestyle.

The lure of the SUV body style and mouthwatering pricing (due to the lower tax on sub-four-meter cars) shows us why this segment is performing so well in India. Both manufacturers have understood the immense potential for this segment to grow further and like other carmakers; Ford and Mahindra to want to cash in this ever-expanding market. The joint venture will either use the SsangYong Tivoli (Mahindra’s S201) or Ford’s Maruti Vitara Brezza rival (codename: B763), that is currently being developed. The Ford and Mahindra/SsangYong SUVs will, however, wear different ‘top hats’ which will make the cars look very different. This means that the body style will be radical and different. ‘Badge engineering’ is not something either company wants to do. In the market, these cars will fiercely compete with each other. This SUV is expected to come in 2020.

Ford and Mahindra partnership – Other SUVs

The latest car that we will see from the Ford and Mahindra partnership is a Ford SUV which will essentially be a new generation Mahindra XUV500. The plans, however, for the new generation XUV500 have been delayed and dropped. The new XUV500 will come in 2020 now. Mahindra has announced that the XUV700 which will launch near the end of the year will be the last launch of the year and there will be no launches after that till 2020. The Ford meanwhile might still get the XUV500 and get a car ready to take on the likes of Hyundai Creta and the Jeep Compass. We don’t think it will be a seven-seater as the XUV500, but it will be a great car’s underpinnings to have.

Next up is the power train-sharing aspect of the Ford and Mahindra deal. We could see Ford’s C-SUV use Mahindra’s next-gen BS-VI-compliant 2.0-litre diesel, while Ford’s new Dragon petrol engine could be used for all M&M’s compact SUVs. Win-win situation here for both manufacturers. We can see a lot of interesting details of this deal transpire in the coming few months and also see some really cool cars come in.

Ford and Mahindra partnership – The deal

The future we can say is still not bleak for Ford. The company posted it’s best results in terms of sales and profits last year. They are looking for a smart partner and deal. Ford is not done in India, We think a strategic deal will help the company in the long run.
