Tata Motors to get many cars at the 2018 Auto Expo

Tata Motors has one of the biggest stalls at the Auto Expo and they have a lot of cars on display.

New, upcoming, concepts, modified versions and then so many commercial vehicles too. The Jaguar Land Rover stall is also a part of the same unit and it is always right next door. Last time, it had the Nexon, Tigor as two of its main cars that had the limelight. This time it seems the number of new cars/concepts will see an increase also. This time there will be more stylish looks cars, more modern concepts. Read further to know all about it.

Tata cars at the 2018 Auto Expo

Tata Q501

This is an all new SUV. This is based on the Harrier platform and it has been developed by Tata and Land Rover. This is the seven-seater SUV that will be offering a 2.0-litre diesel engine churning about 177bhp of power. There shall be a six-speed manual and automatic transmission. There are a lot of more bits about the Q501 that will make it the new flagship model of the company. The concept version is likely to be unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo and the new car shall be launched by late 2018 or 2019. Tata Motors is looking at manufacturing this car not just in India but even exporting it to other markets as well.

Tata Q502

This is a smaller SUV and it is based on the Harrier platform. This one is a five-seater and not a seven. This is smaller and should even have a smaller engine also. This will have a 4×2 and we aren’t sure if it will have a 4×4 version also. This new engine should be the 1.5-litre diesel that will be churning about 120bhp of power and six-speed manual transmission. At the same time, there shall be all the best in class features also. This will be going against the Duster, Creta and Terrano.

Tata X451

This is the next premium hatchback that will go up against the Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti Baleno. This new hatchback will be based on the AMP (new platform that will be one of the two modular platforms that Tata will be working on). This new hatchback will be built on to have the best in class features and power. At the same time, the company will want to compete with the best players in this business. This will be an all new platform, so we can expect a lot of things from it. Be it performance, mileage, space etc. This will be a new modular platform and all the hatchbacks and sedans shall be based on this platform itself.

Tata X451 sedan

There is also a sedan in the making on this platform. This shall also have a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that will be churning about 130bhp of power and will have six-speed manual transmission. Tata Motors has several plans for the Indian car market and one of them is to get the sedan too. This shall help them to enhance their range and make it easier to get more cars. This new sedan will even have a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine too.

This could be showcased as a concept car.

Tamo Racemo

The new Racemo will be making its way into India first and maybe other markets. But this sports car shall be there at the 2018 Auto Expo. The company is looking at enhancing its reach with different products and the Racemo will be the first product from the Tamo brand. This will have its own set of dealerships and service centres. Tata Motors will be looking at making this on the same AMP and this shall even show the flexibility of this new platform.

Tamo C-Cube

Another exciting product for the Indian car market. In terms of reality check, this new hatchback might not make it into production also. This is more of a concept model and it might not even make it into production. Tata Motors had showcased this car as a part of its technology marvel.

It will get a lot of new technology into India and the company just wanted to showcase that.

Tata Tiago Electric

There have been reports that the electric version of the Tiago has been testing. This will get the same technology that has been tested on the Nano. Even though it won’t be making it into production anytime soon. The company will want to showcase this as a part of its technological abilities. The government is encouraging car makers to make more and more electric vehicles.
