The TVS Jupiter scooter has been a hit and is one of the highest selling scooters in the market. The company is working towards a bigger version also. This will be the TVS Jupiter 125. This will be sold along with the 110cc version and shall be made available for those who are looking at getting bigger scooters. This will have better power, outright performance, comfort and even handling.

TVS Jupiter is one of the most balanced scooters and a great value for money ones. The new scooter will get 12-inch tyres and alloy wheels too. There will be daytime running LEDs also on the Jupiter as today most of the 125cc scooters are getting that. There won’t be a major change in its design and overall styling. Both the scooters shall be sharing the same platform and a similar design language too. In terms of features, there shall be mobile charging and even good amount of storage space too.

A 125cc engine should produce close to 9bhp of power and between 9-10Nm of maximum torque. This will be coming with a V-matic transmission. The 125cc scooter should have better braking too. The 125cc and 150cc scooter segments are seeing an increasing in their sale and TVS will not want to leave out on this segment.

TVS Jupiter 125 Price in India

TVS Jupiter front 1

We expect the pricing of the new TVS Jupiter 125 to be somewhere close to INR 57,000 (ex-showroom pricing). There won’t be much of a difference in the pricing of the two scooters. The 125cc will be expensive because of a bigger and powerful engine. There won’t be a much of a difference and buyers with some extra cash can look at the Jupiter 125cc.

TVs Jupiter 125cc Launch Date

We expect this new scooter to be launched by mid-2018. There have been no official announcement from TVS about this scooter. But there have been reports stating testing and a new 125cc scooter coming in from the Karnataka-based two-wheeler manufacturer. TVS has become the third largest two-wheeler maker in the country and it will want to target the second position as well.

TVS Jupiter 125 Design

There shall be not much of a difference in the design of the Jupiter 125cc. This will be following the same design language like the 110cc version. The scooter will have similar 12-inch tyres and black alloy wheels. The 125cc version will have some more add-ons that will differentiate it from the conventional version. In fact there should be daytime running LEDs also. The scooter does retain most of the bits from the 110cc scooter.

TVS Jupiter motion 1

At the same time, the Jupiter 125cc will get an all new console. There will be a split analog and digital.

The latter bit has trip meter and maybe mileage also. The Eco and Performance modes could also be shifted to the digital meter. The tail lamp styling won’t be changed much. Then of course the mandatory AHO will also be offered on the scooter.

TVS Jupiter 125 Engine and Transmission

Engine 125cc, Single Cylinder, Air-Cooled
Power 9.5bhp
Torque 9Nm
Transmission V-matic
Mileage 55km/l

A bigger engine, 125cc one that will be used on the Jupiter. We reckon this time, TVS Motors might be using a fuel-injected version. This will be coming with a V-matic transmission and it will be getting sync braking too. This will have a single-cylinder air-cooled engine. This engine will be a BS4 compliant one.

TVs Jupiter 125cc Mileage

There shall not be a major difference in the fuel efficiency of the 110cc and the 125cc. The bigger engine will have a mileage of about 55km/l. This isn’t much different as the 125cc has fuel-injection. This improves the performance and mileage of the engine. The fuel tank capacity also remains the same.

TVS Jupiter 125cc Top Speed

The top speed of the 125cc Jupiter is about 95km/hr. This is about 13km/hr more than the 110cc version. Now, the speed can be more, but the body will not be able to take up this speed. Hence, the Jupiter 125cc top speed has been locked electronically.

  • I am going to share my personal experience. experience that me and my friend came across after purchasing TVS Jupiter scooer from showroom. The scooter mileage is very low as promised to be 50-55 The scooter starts up and the moment you want it to get pick up then it suddenly declines making it difficult to reach on time .Very poor pick up.As the time passes by and the scooter gets older it should be more efficient in its operation but it gets slower and slower by each ride.It gives a lot of noise and vibrating is very bad There are lots of quality issues ….many are facing problems
