New Renault Duster 2017 unveiled! Images are out!

An all new Renault Duster has been in the making (of course it will be called as Dacia Duster in Europe) and the official images have been released. This will be new Renault Duster 2017 global debut. An all new SUV based on an upgraded platform. There is a major change in the styling, appearance and the features list it offers. There will be an upgrade to the existing petrol and diesel engine line-up as well. Mr Hakim Boutehra, General Director of Renault Commercial Roumanie (RCR), stated that new Renault Duster 2017 will be a “Complete New” product.

There has been a long wait for the new-gen Renault Duster. The Romanian car maker will finally unveil it on 22nd of June 2017. In terms of public appearance, the debut will be at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show this September. The launch will be at the Motor Show, and Renault/Dacia has made multiple changes in the design, dimensions, features and technologies on offer. Design, features, drivetrains and even driving dynamics. This will make the Duster move ahead of the competition and freshen it up.

The five-seater will be the new Duster 2017 and the other will be a seven-seater version. This one will be called as the Grand Duster mostly, no official confirmation yet.  For India, the Duster shall be based on the B0 platform and it won’t be changed for India. The current Duster too is based on the same platform. This will be done to rescue the cost and it will share the platform with the Renault Kaptur SUV, which will be launched this year.

The exterior design will refreshed with new styling. There shall be projector headlamps and daytime running LEDs on higher variants. There will be airbags and ABS as a standard feature. Then there will be ESP as well as these features have been made mandatory by EuroNCAP. There should be an upgraded diesel engine and a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine shall also be in the offering. This will enhance the SUV’s performance and even mileage.

New Renault Duster 2017 Launch Date

The Duster will be launched by late 2018 in India and global debut should be late 2017. After tasting success here, it will not want to the new generation. India is one of the most important markets for Renault today. The new Duster will be making its way into India immediately after the global launch.

New Renault Duster 2017 Price in India

There won’t be a major change in the pricing. But with the Captur coming in, Renault will see a drop in the pricing of the Duster. We reckon that it will be made available only with the 83bhp engine and the 108bhp will be made available only on the Captur. Do not expect a major change in the pricing of the new Duster. This will help it to add more numbers.

The new compact SUV will be based on the same platform and it will be sharing it with the Kaptur.  The same platform will reduce the pricing and help the French automaker to be competitive. The Kaptur will be priced above the Duster and it will get more features. In terms of styling, the Renault Duster will continue with its rugged looks. There will be a lot of chrome and the stance will be muscular. The new Duster will continue with the same styling and this way it will be a lot more superior in design. This will be an evolution of the existing one in design.

There is an all new fascia. The new front grille looks cool and stylish. The headlamps look like 2017 now and even there are daytime running LEDs embedded in it. The side profile looks a lot identical and the rear also. The new Duster seems to have evolved. It might have got a major change, but the design means it look like a heavy facelift, unless we see it in person.

New Renault Duster 2017 Interior

Renault will be upgrading the Duster’s interiors. There will be a new steering wheel design and a revised instrument cluster. In terms of styling, it will still have the rugged look and this will help to differentiate from the other SUVs. There will be a rear AC vent integrated into the roof this time. Renault will not want to miss out on this aspect. Preparing the Duster for India, right from scratch. This will make it easier to build for India, than to tweak it later on. There should be ample of space for five people. The boot again will be large and good to carry luggage for five, for a weekend. Practicality will be one of the most important aspects on the SUV.

New Renault Duster 2017 Rivals

A lot more competing SUVs will be launched by then. To begin with Hyundai Creta, Nissan Terrano, Renault Kaptur, Nissan Kicks and the Maruti S-Cross will be direct competition to the Renault Duster. Renault’s Kaptur itself shall be competing with the Duster.

New Renault Duster 2017 Colours

Expect the Duster to come in Black, White, Silver, Grey colours. The other colours will be disclosed closer to the launch.

New Renault Duster 2017 Engine

A 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine will be powering the new Duster. Expect a six-speed manual transmission and AMT to be offered too. The Duster’s petrol engine will be the game changer and it will be priced more affordably. This engine will get the duty cut for its capacity and this way Renault could look at challenging other SUVs with its new petrol engine. The diesel is tried and tested product and shall be offered on the Duster again with minor tweaks. There will be a front wheel drive version and even an all wheel drive version too, on the five seater version. The new petrol is likely to have a six-speed manual and AMT as well.

New Renault Duster 2017 Transmission

There will be a six-speed manual and even a six-speed AMT for the new Duster. This will be the more affordable SUV from the French car maker. This should be common across the board for both the engines. There will even AWD version on the new Duster 2017, this will enhance its ability to go off the road as well.

New Renault Duster 2017 Mileage

The diesel will be the 1.5-litre version that will churn about 83bhp of power and it has very good mileage when compared to the more powerful version. Renault has a winner in hand and this will be a good update for the Indian car market.
