We had revealed a year back that the Honda Jazz facelift will be launched by mid-2018.

Honda has now quietly launched the new Jazz with a starting price of ₹ 7.35 lakhs. The new-generation Honda Jazz was launched in 2015 and will compete three years of launch this year. The updated version of the Jazz was launched in Thailand last year. Now it has come to India. Hence, as we predicted, the Honda Jazz 2018 is here.

The new exterior styling elements include the signature rear LED wing light, chrome door handles and 2 new exterior colours.

The new Honda Jazz 2018 was not showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. As part of their multiple car onslaught in India, Honda will be upgrading its popular hatchback.Another reason for not displaying it at the Auto Expo was that this is a facelift. There will be no change to its design or mechanicals. It will get some tweaks in styling and addition of a few features, to make it better value. The new Jazz will get upgrades and one of them is the headlamp. There will projector lamps and even daytime running LEDs also.

There shall be some features on offer too, like sunroof, new touchscreen system and even HDMI input. The 1.2-litre petrol engine will continue on the Jazz and the other option is the 1.5-litre diesel. Petrol will be offered with a five-speed manual and CVT, while the diesel shall have 6-speed manual on offer. What all will the new Honda Jazz 2018 pack in? Read further to know more.

The new-gen hatchback came in a year after it was launched in other markets, so the facelift will also be here for at least three years. The current Jazz was launched in mid 2015 and the facelift is expected to come after 3 years.

Honda Jazz 2018 Design

The Jazz  has not getten any changes to talk about. To begin with, a new thicker front grille and the headlamps have become sharper than before. There are round fog lamps with chrome surrounds. The headlamps even have daytime running LEDs in them. The side profile hasn’t changed much. In fact it is just the same like before. What has changed is its approach in styling, especially with the new alloy wheels that do look sporty and add to the glam.

Honda Jazz 2018

The Jazz has anyways been jazzy but now it seems more premium with these changes. The rear also gets updates but these are majorly cosmetic and aren’t big ones. Rather more subtle than being loud. There won’t be any changes in the dimensions. This is more of a cosmetic makeover than anything else. This is one reason why the Jazz will majorly remain the same. The changes are minor and these don’t make the Jazz look much different from the existing Jazz.

Honda Jazz 2018 Interiors

On the inside, the Honda Jazz 2018 won’t get a sea of changes. There is a new start-stop button, a new seven-inch touchscreen system, reverse camera, bluetooth connection. The screen size won’t just see an increase in dimensions but even the screen resolution will see an enhancement. There shall also be HDMI input as well. These will be the major changes on the Jazz. Then dual airbags and ABS with EBD shall be offered as a standard feature. There will be no more additional features on offer on the Jazz.

New Honda City ZX 2017

In terms of space, no change. The front and the rear seats have always been comfortable and they shall continue to be. The Jazz rear seat has recline option and then there are the Magic Seats on the top model. We believe this feature might be gone from the updated version. There won’t be rear AC vents. The rear seat floor is flat and this makes it comfortable for three people to seat. Then there is also the large boot as well. Apart from this, nothing has changed on the Honda Jazz. A new RS variant is also being offered on the Honda Jazz, but that we aren’t certain if it will come to India anytime soon.

Honda Jazz 2018 Specification

A 1.2-litre petrol engine will continue to be the major seller for the Jazz. This mill churns about 88bhp of power and 115Nm of maximum torque. It is available with a five-speed manual transmission and a CVT as well.

The engine is one of the most quietest ones around and whats so special is how it behaves. The engine doesn’t have the punch it more of a comfortable cruiser. One needs to downshift to overtake, especially on the highway.

Then there is the 1.5-litre diesel engine. This one is powerful and it has more than sufficient torque. There is more than sufficient torque available across the bandwidth and driving this engine is ease.

Overtaking is never a challenge with the Jazz diesel. Just that the engine is noisy, which effects the refinement of the cabin. This engine has a six-speed manual transmission.

Honda Jazz 2018 Mileage

Honda Jazz 2018 mirror

No major change here as well. The petrol engine returns about 12-13km/l in the city and about 15km/l on the highway. On the other hand, the petrol CVT should have an efficiency of about 11km/l in the city and 14km/l on the highway. The diesel should have a mileage of 18km/l in the city and close to 22km/l on the highway.
