This news isn’t true. When we contacted JLR India, the company stated that only Discovery Sport and Evoque prices have been revised.

Nothing has been done to the pricing of the Vogue and the Range Rover Sport.

The previous report we shared was based on rumours and these are the details:

Land Rover has seen a drop in its pricing beginning from about INR 3 lakhs on the Range Rover Evoque to a whopping INR 50 lakhs on the Range Rover. This major drop in prices has been due to the reduction in the price of the GBP (Great Britain Pound), which has hit its lowest since the Brexit. This has resulted in better pricing of the sedans and the SUVs for the Indian car market.

The INR (Indian Rupee) hasn’t seen a major jump, but the drop in GBP has certainly helped.

The Discovery Sport, which is also locally assembled has seen a cut in its price by about INR 4 lakhs. On the other hand, the Range Rover Sport has got a price cut of about INR 30 lakhs and the flagship Range Rover of INR 50 lakhs. With this change in pricing, it now seems that the British marquee products get an planned advantage in India due to this price cut making it highly appealing. Whats more, the European counterparts haven’t seen a major change in the pricing of Euro against INR and so their pricing is more or less the same. The Jaguar sedans should also see a drop in its pricing and this should help the brand to add to its sales numbers.

At the moment, Jaguar has XE, XF, XJ, F-Pace and F-Type on sale in India, while Land Rover has Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover on sale at the moment. This year, the company shall be introducing the Range Rover Evoque Convertible and Range Rover Valer. These shall be two new products for the company for this year.
