The Honda HRV will get a 1.6-litre petrol engine. It will churn out 132bhp of power and about 170Nm of maximum torque. A six-speed manual and CVT will be the transmission options offered. Honda would like to focus on this engine as it will get a good number for it. This will have a decent demand as it is a powerful engine.

The other engine will be a 1.6-litre diesel. It will produce about 132bhp of power and 250Nm of peak torque. This engine is the one shared with the City and also the WRV, however, it will be tweaked for better performance. This shall be mated to a six-speed manual transmission, Honda may also offer a CVT with this engine. The Honda HR-V will also be tweaked to offer better performance. The diesel engine is anyways high on performance and mileage as it is lightweight. However, Honda would want to work on its NVH levels.Honda HRV India side

The Honda HR-V will have fuel-efficient engines, just like the Honda City and WRV. It will share the same engines, with a slight tweak for better drivability and performance. Hence, there will be very little difference in the fuel efficiency figures. Buyers in this segment look at performance more than fuel efficiency.

Honda HRV India Design

The 2018 Honda HRV receives exterior styling updates to further expand its appeal. The grille is enhanced by dark chrome that is extending over the new projector-style headlights. Under the chrome band, the grille opening has been restyled to emphasize a wide look. The fog light housings are enlarged to help give HR-V a more aggressive stance. In the rear, new smoked turn signal lenses are connected by a thin chrome band, lending an upscale air to HRV’s exterior.

HR-V Sport features unique lower body trim, painted glossy black on the lower front and rear bumper, rocker panels, and wheel arches, as well as the gloss-black exterior mirrors. HR-V Sport also receives a honeycomb pattern grille, exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels and tires, and in the rear, there’s a chrome exhaust finisher.

The HR-V Touring trim gets flanks in its honeycomb grille with multi-element Honda LED headlights that are unique in the HR-V lineup. As the touring models come with exclusive 17-inch machined alloy wheels, for an upscale look. Most importantly, HR-V Touring also comes with similar lower-body trim as Sport, but painted body color rather than gloss black, along with the body-color outside mirrors. We don’t know what all from this impressive list of exterior details will make it to India but we can expect a lot of it to come when the car comes to India.

The coupe-styled roofing seen here, with a downward slope at the rear reminds one of the Honda Civic. The rear door handle has been moved to next to the window and is hidden, giving it a two-door look. A clean silhouette adorns the HR-V and it has minimal lines running across. The rear has large tail lamps that give it a bold look and it has an integrated rear spoiler as well. These elements make the HR-V quite appealing and eye-catching too. A shark fin antenna on the roof is also featured towards the rear along with the part below the bumpers is black in color, which gives it a purposeful look.
