The Tamo Racemo, the sports coupe from Tata Motors has won the German Design Award (GDA) in the Gold category for International Excellence in ‘Exceptional Product Design’. The Racemo is a two-door sports car which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, this year. This is an all new product and Racemo is a Tamo brand. Tamo as a brand is aiming at creating its own identity have niche products. The Tamo Racemo has been currently shelved, however it displays the prowess of Tata Motors in getting new products which are high on design. The Racemo concept has a powerful engine, stylish looking design and is feature loaded. Read further to know more about the Racemo.

Tamo Racemo Launch Date

The Tamo Racemo project has currently been shelved by Tata Motors. However, based on the technology, the company would be getting new products to the Indian market, under this brand. This also includes electric cars. The Moflex platform on which the Racemo is based, will be used to build the new cars.

Tamo Racemo Design

The Tamo Racemo follows the IMPACT design language. The front grille has a honeycomb grille and Bi-LED headlamps. It has an aggressive fascia and also has the elements of other Tata designed vehicles. The front bumper has large intakes too. The new Racemo will have stylish looking design and the icing on the cake are the butterfly doors. The side profile looks appealing and it stands out in a crowd.

The Tamo Racemo side profile looks appealing and is one of the best in its segment. The side profile looks like a sports car with low slung roof, stylish wing mirrors and large black alloy wheels. The rear does look like hypercar. The exhaust is placed higher and it looks like a face even at the rear. The design and the overall styling is indeed aggressive.

On the inside, the Tamo Racemo has two seats only. These are sport seats and it will have tech-loaded features. It has three large displays as information area. There is also cloud-based Microsoft developed technology as well. Like most of the contemporary supercars, it has most of the controls integrated on the steering wheel.

Tamo Racemo Engine and Transmission

The Racemo has a 1.2-litre Revotron turbo petrol engine. Though the capacity of the engine is less, it will churn out a whopping 190bhp of power at 6,500rpm. This engine has amazing torque of 210Nm at 2,500rpm. The engine stands out in its power output form such a small mill.  This is a mid-engined rear wheel drive sports car. This will be exciting to see what does it offer. This car could do a 0-100km/hr in under six seconds due to its light weight. That should satisfy many.
