Honda City ZX to be launched soon

The Honda City ZX has been spied. Honda is looking at getting back the ZX tag on the facelift version. As the dates are slowly approaching, Honda is looking at not just updating its City in styling but we also expect some additional features too. Launched in 2014, the new Honda City was made on a new platform, with more features, more space and for the first time a diesel engine too. It seems that the company will not be wanting to wait for any more longer. The new Honda City ZX launch should happen sometime soon. Let us find out more about it.

Honda City ZX Launch Date

We expect the Honda City ZX to be launched before March 2017. We reckon, the launch of this new sedan should happen by the end of January or early February 2017. Honda will not want to loose out any time on this new sedan. This is their best selling sedan and the company is determined to launch it very soon. Honda City ZX Price in India

As there aren’t several additional features, we do not expect a major hike in the price. We reckon, the pricing of the Honda City should remain the same. At the most a hike of INR 5,000 to INR 10,000. So, the pricing should be between INR 9.3 lakhs to INR 13.8 lakhs (on-road, New Delhi). The sedan is one of the highest selling sedans in its segment and Honda City ZX will continue with the same.

Honda City ZX Design

The Honda City ZX gets a stylish front and a new front grille. The new front grille is larger, and even the headlamps.

It even gets day time running lamps as well. An all new redesigned front bumper with round fog lamps makes the fascia look premium. The side profile remains the same. It is a well balanced designed that looks subtle. The glass area is good enough and the design doesn’t seem to have aged. Not at least the side profile. The new alloy wheels look bling! They are super prominent when you see the silhouette. Due to this, the design looks more sporty and trendy than the outgoing version.

The rear, well now it resembles the Ciaz even more. The Ciaz and the City looked similar from the back and now they look so identical. There is a rear spoiler that changes the design to some extent, but that is about it. There are no more changes on it. There is chrome lip at the rear too. This time around, the Honda City ZX has lesser chrome than the outgoing version. The aim is to make the Honda City ZX look more appealing and stylish.

Honda City ZX Interiors

This is where minimal changes have happened. The Honda City ZX has the same space and beige seats continue. The Honda City ZX’s dashboard is the same black one with exact same steering wheel, touchscreen AVN system with maps and reverse camera. At the same time, the touchscreen air-con is carried forward as well. There are minor changes in the styling of the dashboard and we reckon there could be Android Auto or Apple CarPlay on the music system. In terms of features, the Honda City was one of the most feature loaded sedan and it is still.

The space on the Honda City ZX is one of the best in its segment. The front row seats are large and comfortable. The top-of-the-line model gets leather seats too. The rear seats are spacious and comfortable. Though they miss out on adjustable head rest. The rear arm rest too goes very low. There are rear AC vents and two charging points as well at the back. The boot space is also one of the largest in its segment.

Honda City ZX Engines

A 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options are on offer on the Honda City ZX (same as the outgoing version, as there will be no mechanical changes). The petrol is their higher selling engine and this comes with 118bhp and 145Nm of peak torque. This engine will be offered with a five-speed manual and CVT (continously variable transmission) options. This is one of the most peppiest petrol engines around. The engine pulls cleanly at almost any engine speed without any hassle. This engine has been known for its drivability and performance both. Honda is just making this engine better and better by the day.

The 1.5-litre diesel on the Honda City ZX produces 100bhp of power and 200Nm of maximum torque. This engine comes with a six-speed manual transmission. What is so special ab]]out this engine is its performance. This engine has amazing performance and is highly fuel-efficient too. One down side to this engine is its engine noise, which we reckon will be taken care this time. Honda would have worked to make this engine more silent and even improve the insulation in the cabin.

Honda City ZX Mileage

The Honda City ZX diesel engine is one of the most fuel-efficient engines around. In fact it doesn’t just have good mileage but even good at performance too. We reckon the ARAI mileage for the new Honda City ZX should be about 27km/l. In the real world, the city mileage should be 16km/l and about 22km/l on the highway. On the other hand, the petrol’s ARAI mileage will be about 19km/l. In city, its mileage should be close to 12km/l and about 16km/l on the highway.

Honda City ZX Colours

There is a new blue colour on offer. The Honda City ZX will majorly have most of the existing colours like white, grey, brown, silver. These are most preferred colours and then a couple of new colours will be on offer too.

Honda City ZX Competition

The Honda City ZX will compete with the upcoming Maruti Ciaz facelift (coming soon), all new Hyundai Verna 2017 (launch this year), Volkswagen Vento 2017 (again launch this year). The other sedans that compete include Fiat Linea, Skoda Rapid 2017. At this price, there is even the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano also. These are SUVs however.
