Hyundai XCent Prime is the cab version
The Hyundai XCent 2017 – the facelift version of the XCent has just been launched. The company has today confirmed that the XCent Prime is the model that will be sold to the cab market. Launched back in 2014, the XCent has been sold to about 2.5 lakh buyers of this about 7-10% has been in the taxi segment. As the demand for the taxi is increasing, Hyundai has decided to retain the older version of the XCent, renamed it as XCent Prime and made it available on sale for the commercial market. What will it offer, we share our detailed review.

The Hyundai XCent Prime will be made available only in the base model. There won’t be a any other variants. Just a petrol and a diesel on offer.

Hyundai XCent Prime Exterior
On the outside, the XCent Prime shall see no changes. So, the XCent will continue to be a sub 4 metre sedan and have 400+ litres of boot space. The XCent Prime will have 14-inch wheels, steel wheels and no alloys on option either. Then there will even be no front fog lamps on offer either. The Hyundai XCent shall have a simple design with no garnishes on offer.

Hyundai XCent Prime Interiors
The same story continues on the inside. A revised list of features is what shall be offered. No in-built music system, no steering controls. Just power steering, rear AC vents, manual A/C and power windows. There will even be a 12V charging socket on offer as well. There could be ABS at the most on offer.

Hyundai XCent Prime Specifications
A 1.2-litre petrol engine will be powering the compact sedan. This shall churn close to 81bhp and 112Nm of peak torque. This mill will be offered with a five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmission. The same 1.1-litre diesel will continue on the XCent Prime. This will also be offered with a five-speed manual transmission.

Mileage is one of the most important aspects and we reckon the XCent Prime petrol should return about 12 km/l in the city and about 16 km/l on the highway. On the other hand, the diesel engine will be more efficient as it shall have an efficiency close to 15 km/l in the city and about 19 km/l on the highway.
