Based on the Grand i10 platform, this will be launched sometime in the half of 2016. Hyundai is working towards enhancing its products as they have reached their mid-life cycle. There won’t be a major change in the pricing. The XCent Prime will get some additional features, majorly from the XCent limited edition that was recently introduced. The price of the new XCent should be between INR 6.05 lakhs to INR 9.01 lakhs (on-road).
Hyundai XCent Prime Launch Date
The new XCent Prime shall be launched in the first half of 2017. The Grand i10 Prime will be launched first, and this will be followed by the XCent Prime. We could even expect them to launch all three together. The i10 Prime is also in the making.
Hyundai XCent Prime Exterior
On the outside, the XCent Prime shall see some changes to begin with, it shall get daytime running LEDs, projector headlamps. A new front grille will be sporting the XCent Prime. This will a honeycomb mesh and the thin chrome strip is likely to continue. The side profile of the compact sedan won’t get any changes. The rear will some minor changes with a redesigned bumper and tail lamp styling. As it is a facelift, there shall be no changes in the dimensions. So, the XCent will continue to be a sub 4 metre sedan and have 400+ litres of boot space.
Hyundai XCent Prime Interiors
The same story continues on the inside. A revised list of features is what shall be offered. The XCent Prime will get new touchscreen system with maps and reverse camera. There will also be 1 GB data storage on the top model. We reckon, this time the compact sedan could even get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The rear seat passengers might get a centre armrest.
The XCent was anyways one of the most feature-loaded car in its segment. With time, competition had added some more features on their new compact sedans. This additions will make the XCent Prime a good option to consider. The XCent is one of the most spacious compact sedan anyways. It even has rear AC vents to cool the cabin faster. Then the top model even gets cooled glovebox as well. The XCent should get dual airbags and ABS as a standard feature or at least will be offered as an optional feature on all the variants.
Hyundai XCent Prime Specifications
A 1.2-litre petrol engine will be powering the compact sedan. This shall churn close to 81bhp and 112Nm of peak torque. This mill will be offered with a five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmission. The second engine is likely to be a 1.2-litre diesel or the same 1.1-litre diesel could continue. We reckon, the 1.1-litre might continue on the current XCent, which will be offered as a cab and 1.2-litre will be for private car buyers. This is what our sources recommend, the company hasn’t given out any statement on it. But the 1.2-litre TCI has been tested on the XCent and the Grand i10. This is technically the three-cylinder version of the 1.6-litre diesel engine. It should produce between 85-95bhp of power. This will also be offered with a five-speed manual transmission.
Hyundai XCent Prime Mileage
|Engine||City Mileage||Highway Mileage|
|1.2-litre Petrol||12 km/l||15 km/l|
|1.1-litre Diesel||15 km/l||18 km/l|
Mileage is one of the most important aspects and we reckon the XCent Prime petrol should return about 12 km/l in the city and about 16 km/l on the highway. On the other hand, the diesel engine will be more efficient as it shall have an efficiency close to 15 km/l in the city and about 19 km/l on the highway.
