New Kia Picanto 2017 renderings revealed

The new Kia Picanto 2017 has been in the making for a while. Finally, the Korean automaker has revealed the renderings of this new hatchback. The third generation Picanto will be made available in Europe by late 2017. This is an all new platform for Kia, the Hyundai i10 (Grand i10 in other markets) both share the same platform. The new Kia Picanto 2017 will be revealed soon at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, is where we reckon.

New Kia Picanto 2017 Design

The styling of the new Kia Picanto 2017 is sporty. There is an addition of aggression in the design. The front grille has been derived from the Cee’d, in fact the fascia resembles a smaller version. The headlamps have daytime running LEDs there is also the smoked effect. The bumper has a front spoiler like design too. The side profile doesn’t look like a tall boy anymore.

The side profile somewhat reminds of the current Polo. There is a red line on the rocker in the rendering. The rear also looks sharp with a spoiler and the aggressive looking bumper. The tail lamps will have LEDs and there seems to be a sporty version that will have dual exhausts. The C-shaped tail lamps are seen for the first time.

The reflector design also looks trendy.

New Kia Picanto 2017 Interior

The interiors look fresh and clean. It seems that Kia has gone to make all new interiors for the Picanto. This looks sporty and appealing. A large touchscreen system sits at the centre and the heat ventilators on for the seats. The side AC vents are vertical and this looks fresh. The instrument cluster consists of twin dials with driver information system sandwiched in the centre. The three-spoke steering wheel has multiple controls on it. There will climate control on offer too. Looking at the images of the rendering and the spyshots, it seems that new Kia Picanto 2017 should have several practical stowage spaces.

New Kia Picanto 2017 Engines

The new Kia Picanto 2017 shall be offered with a 1.0-litre and 1.25-litre petrol engines. The 1.0-litre engine will produce power of 98bhp and this shall be coming with six-speed simple stick shift and even an autobox option. The 1.25-litre petrol will be producing about 82bhp of power and five-speed manual transmission.

New Kia Picanto 2017 Price in UK

At the moment, the Kia Picanto is priced within £8,500. The new Kia Picanto 2017 pricing will also remain in the same price bracket to compete with the Volkswagen Up, Hyundai i10, Toyota Aygo and the Peugeot 108. The 2017 Kia Picanto will certainly offer more features than its existing model.
