88 Lakhs (on-road, New Delhi).  The response for RC range of bikes has been good as most of the bikers generally prefer picking up a fully fairing bike. The RC 200 carries forward the same design but quite a few updates that makes it interesting once agin.. What will it offer? We share our detailed preview on the 2017 KTM RC 200. Read further.

2017 KTM RC 200 is priced at INR 1.88 lakhs (on-road). There is a minor hike in the pricing of this new bike due to addition of new features and improved safety.

2017 KTM RC 200 What is New?

The 2017 KTM RC 200 gets a new body color and graphics. It also gets new rear view mirrors.

2017 KTM RC 200 Design

The RC 200 continues with all the design elements and features of the earlier RC 200. A new set of larger mirrors is now here.  The current underbelly exhaust is continued on the RC 200. The RC 200 sees an update in the paint job and also the graphics. The basic skeleton frame remains same as KTM will not want to go away with the current design. The new RC 200 looks distinctively different. The new colour scheme has the same white, orange and black but in different positions and white colour dominates here.

It is a bit disappointing, but the RC 200 doesn’t get any new additional features. This means that the only change on the bike is purely cosmetic. While on the other hand, the KTM RC 390 gets multiple new additional features. The 2017 KTM RC 200 has nothing different from the currently sold RC 200, except for the colour scheme.

2017 KTM RC 200 Safety Features

The RC 200 doesn’t come with ABS fitment, however the company will be introducing it on the new bike later. This will be mandatory to have ABS on all bikes above 125cc.

So, the 2017 KTM RC 200 will need to have one. This will enhance the bike’s safety ability. It continues with the 300mm front disc and 230mm rear disc brakes.

2017 KTM RC 200 Specifications

The new RC 200 comes with a 199.5cc engine that will churn about 24bhp of power and 19Nm. This engine will come mated to a six-speed gearbox. The 2017 KTM RC 200 can do a 0-100km/hr in under 10 seconds. The engine is re-calibrated to meet the BS-IV norms in India. There is no increase in power though.This bike has more than sufficient power in its category. This is the most powerful 200cc bike in its segment. The bike has been designed for performance and good handling. The suspension set-up on this bike is stiff that makes the ride stiff for daily city riding.  The KTM RC 200 comes with a six-speed gearbox.

2017 KTM RC 200 Mileage

The 2017 KTM RC 200 will return about 40 km/l in the city and on the highway it should be about 45 km/l. The upgraded engine being BS-IV will see a drop in power to some extent. If you are used to pedal to metal riding, then the mileage drop to about 25-30 km/l.

2017 KTM RC 200 Top Speed

The 2017 KTM RC 200 has a top speed of 125 km/hr. The gearing is short on the Duke, and somewhat taller on the RC 200. So, it has an increase in its top speed.  Everything is the same on the 2017 KTM RC 200 including the fuel tank capacity, so one will have to go a bit often to refill, especially when they are touring.
