Suzuki V Strom 250 has been revealed.

This is the company’s latest offering that will be soon making it into production. Rumoured earlier to be named as G-Strom 250, this bike will soon be making its debut in India. As this is an adventure bike, it will be looking to compete with the likes of the newly revealed Versys X 300, Royal Enfield Himalayan and the KTM Adventure range of bikes that are making their way too into India.

This will have a parallel twin cylinder and it will be coming with a six-speed gearbox. The bike is expected to first make its debut in Japan and then see the daylight in India. Looking at the new Suzuki strategy, it is quite possible that the V-Strom 250 Adventure will be manufactured in India and exported to other markets like Japan.

Suzuki V Strom 250 Launch Date

A bit too early to comment, but we can expect the bike to debut in India after the new 250cc Gixxer has come in. So, the timeline for its launch can be presumed to be close to the end of 2017.

By then several toher adventure bikes might have already made their way. BMW is also getting the G310 GS to India.

Suzuki V Strom 250 Price in India

As this will be a twin-cylinder engine, the pricing will be higher than other single cylinder engines. However, as this is likely to be a locally made bike, we expect to see a drop in its pricing. So the Suzuki V Strom 250 should be priced in the range of INR 2.7 lakhs (on-road).

Suzuki V Strom 250 Specifications

For the Indian bike market, the Suzki V Strom will be powered by a 248cc twin cylinder engine. This mill will churn about 24bhp and 23Nm of torque. This is a high revving engine and will retain the smoothness that the Gixxer engine has.

Now, as this is an adventure motorcycle, Suzuki has worked to increasing the torque of the bike. The street/full fairing version of this enigne will have more linear torque and smoother acceleration. The V Strom 250 will come mated to a six-speed transmission. As this is an adventure bike, the fuel tank is larger than the regular Gixxer 250 for better range on one fuel tank. Suzuki claims that the V Strom can go for about 482 kms on one full tank.

AS this is a twin cylinder 25cc engine, we expect the efficiency to be about 30 km/l. This will be a good enough mileage as the buyers of this bike won’t prefer riding slowly or even cruising.
