Tata Aeris
CNG Price: Rs. 7.23 lakh – Rs. 11.12 lakh
The Tata Aeris is the latest launch in the CNG car segment. It offers CNG from the Smart trim up to the Accomplished trim. The Aeris also gets a CNG plus AMT combination from the Pure trim onwards, up to the top-of-the-line Accomplished.
The Aeris comes with Tata’s dual-tank CNG configuration, which places them under the car’s body to maximise boot space. It’s powered by a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine that makes 74 bhp and 96.5 Nm of torque (CNG mode), with a mileage of 26.6 km/kg for the 5-speed manual and 28.1 km/kg for the 5-speed AMT. It gets a 10.24-inch touchscreen, a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, parking assist with a 360-degree camera, four speakers and two tweeters.
Kia Carens and Carens Clavis
CNG Price: Rs. 14.80 lakh – Rs. 15.42 lakh
Kia has launched a CNG powertrain for the Carens and the Carens Clavis. The Carens CNG is available in a single Premium (O) variant, which costs Rs. 14.80 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The Carens Clavis CNG comes in the HTE and HTE (O) variants, priced at Rs. 14.33 lakh and Rs. 15.42 lakh, respectively.
Both are powered by Kia’s 1.5-litre NA petrol engine, which makes 94.6 bhp and 123 Nm of torque in CNG mode; in petrol mode, it makes 113 bhp and 143.8 Nm of torque. They are currently offered exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission; there is no official confirmation of a future CNG AMT. These CNG variants now come with larger 16-inch disc brakes, a re-tuned suspension to accommodate the weight of the CNG tank, and some minor engine recalibration to run CNG smoothly.
Inside, you now get a dedicated distance-to-empty readout for CNG mode and a switch to change fuels. The third-row seat-back has also been modified to provide a better recline angle.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno
CNG Price: Rs. 9.06 lakh – Rs. 10.65 lakh
Maruti Suzuki recently introduced a CNG AMT powertrain for three cars in its lineup. One of them is the Baleno; it gets CNG from the Delta variant up to the Zeta Plus. The AMT is only offered in the Delta Plus and Zeta Plus variants.
The new Z-series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine has an ARAI-claimed mileage of 34.47 km/kg with the AMT. It produces 68.8 bhp and 101.8 Nm of torque. It has a 55-litre CNG tank, but its boot-mounted layout eats into space.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire
CNG Price: Rs. 9.33 lakh – Rs. 10.89 lakh
Maruti has also introduced the CNG AMT option on the Dzire. Mechanically, it is identical to the Baleno and Swift, but scores higher on mileage.
The same 1.2-litre engine with the CNG AMT setup helps the Dzire achieve an ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of 36.47 km/kg; that’s 2.74 km/kg more than the Dzire CNG manual. The Dzire steals the crown in this list for the highest fuel-efficiency figures.
Like the Baleno, the Dzire too gets a boot-mounted CNG tank that eats into the space.

CNG Price: Rs. 8.65 lakh – Rs. 9.70 lakh
As mentioned before, the Swift CNG AMT shares the same mechanicals as the Baleno and Dzire CNG AMT. It suffers the same fate in terms of its boot space as the Baleno and Dzire with the boot-mounted CNG tank.
The familiar 1.2-litre engine with the CNG AMT powertrain helps the Swift achieve an ARAI-claimed mileage of 35.34 km/kg, 2.49 km/kg more than the CNG manual.
