With six new launches, Honda has already planned to expand its product portfolio in India. We have also given our readers a good idea about which models these can be. But recently, we came across an interesting seven-seater model from Honda, and it could be the car that India needs. Here’s a look.

New Honda 7-Seater: What’s That?
While Honda has a very limited car portfolio in India, that’s not the case in the international markets. Honda offers a slew of models internationally, including an exciting seven-seater called StepWGN.
Visually, it looks like the Maruti WagonR from the front, with its boxy, tall-boy look. Even from the side, if we do not consider the extended length, it looks more or less identical to the WagonR. While every design element might make you think of the Maruti WagonR, the Honda logo makes all the difference.
While the WagonR is a hatchback, the StepWGN measures around 4.8 m in length. That means it has good cabin space to seat up to seven people comfortably. For reference, the Innova Hycross, which is known to offer good cabin space, is a 4.75 m-long MPV. So, from an Indian standpoint, the StepWGN can be a desirable product.

Interior
The StepWGN’s interior is a bit of a game-changer. It gets a big touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, powered sliding doors, ADAS, folding seats, folding tables, a rear armrest, winged headrests, and more. And that’s not all. It is one of the few MPV’s that has reclining seats with armrests, calf support and sliding function even in the third row. So it is a fairly loaded seven-seater.
With all these features, if Honda pegs this seven-seater against the Toyota Innova Hycross, it will surely be an interesting battle to watch.

Powertrain
A 2.0-litre NA petrol engine with hybrid tech powers the Honda StepWGN. If it comes to India, expect the model to be powered by the same unit as seen on the Honda ZR-V. That means it won’t lose out on efficiency either.

Expected Launch & Price
Honda has not yet confirmed if it is looking to bring this seven-seater to our shores. However, the Japanese automaker is planning to bring in some international models to India by mid-2027. We hope models like the StepWGN make it to that list.
