New 7-Seater SUVs: Renault Duster-Based 7-Seater
Renault has already unveiled the Boreal, a seven-seater version of the Duster in international markets. The same iteration is also expected to launch in India by early 2027. Design-wise, it will closely resemble the Duster SUV and will even carry over its feature suite. On the powertrain front, we expect the 1.3-litre turbo petrol and the 1.8-litre NA petrol hybrid engines to do the duty. Here, Renault might ditch the 1.0-litre turbo petrol, given the car’s size & weight.
Pricing-wise, we expect the India-spec Renault Boreal to be priced between Rs. 17 lakh and Rs. 28 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Nissan Tekton-Based 7-Seater
Like Renault, Nissan is also expected to launch a seven-seater version of the Tekton. While the full-size Nissan Patrol SUV will heavily inspire its design, it will borrow most of the features from the Tekton. However, just like the differentiating factor between the Duster and Tekton, the Nissan seven-seater might lose out on some ADAS features, compared to its Renault counterpart.
It remains to be seen if Nissan will offer the 1.8-litre NA petrol hybrid engine with this 7-seater, as the same engine is not available with the Tekton. If not, Nissan might continue with the turbo-petrol engine duo with this model. We expect Nissan to launch this 7-seater after Renault launches its version. Price-wise, expect this 7-seater SUV to be priced between Rs. 17 lakh and Rs. 28 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

New 7-Seater SUVs: Toyota Innova Facelift
The Toyota Innova Hycross facelift prototypes have been around for some time now. Spy shots have revealed some cosmetic changes expected on the model, including a new grille, redesigned headlamps, and revised bumpers; the side and rear portions are expected to remain largely similar. The MPV’s interior is also expected to change, including a new dashboard layout and a bigger touchscreen. Some other features might also be upgraded. However, the powertrain will most likely remain untouched.
The Innova Hycross is expected to launch by the festive season this year. With the updates, the Innova could see a price hike of around Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 80,000, depending on the variant.

New-Generation Toyota Fortuner
Along with the Innova, Toyota is also planning to launch the new-generation Fortuner in India. With this update, the Toyota Fortuner is expected to undergo several changes on the outside as well as inside. On the outside, expect the design changes to be identical to the new-gen Hilux. The interior could see a new dashboard layout with a new steering wheel, and some added features.
The new-generation Toyota Fortuner is expected to launch by early 2027, and could see a price hike of nearly Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1.5 lakh, depending on the variant.

New 7-Seater SUVs: MG Starlight 560
JSW MG Motor has already revealed its new-age architecture, ADAPT; the same is expected to underpin its new seven-seater SUV. It will be based on the Wuling Starlight 560, and could be rebadged as ‘Hector Hawk’ in India. The model will likely be available as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and an EV, as MG is focusing on new-energy powertrains with this SUV.
The Wuling Starlight 560 gets a loaded features suite, and the same is expected to be carried over to the India-spec SUV. The automaker hasn’t revealed the exact launch timeline; however, industry sources point to this launch happening this month. The upcoming MG seven-seater could be priced somewhere between Rs. 20 lakh and Rs. 32 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Kia Sorento
Kia has already commenced unofficial pre-bookings for the Sorento. It will be Kia’s rival to the Toyota Fortuner. The Sorento is a fairly large seven-seater SUV known for its premiumness. It is already on sale in international markets.
As the unofficial bookings have already commenced, we expect the model to arrive sometime next month. We expect the Kia Sorento to be priced somewhere between Rs. 45 lakh and Rs. 60 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

New 7-Seater SUVs: Hyundai 7-Seater SUV
According to industry sources, Hyundai is also planning to launch a new seven-seater SUV in India. Hyundai has not yet specified details about this model, so there isn’t any solid information yet.
According to sources, Hyundai might position this new SUV to compete with the Mahindra XUV 7XO and Tata Safari. In terms of features, expect it to borrow several from the Creta. The same will be the case for the powertrain options. Hyundai could also consider adding a new hybrid powertrain, which will debut with the Kia Sorento.
Hyundai hasn’t revealed any specific launch timeline. Moreover, this seven-seater SUV is yet to be spotted. That said, the launch might still be some time away. Expect it to arrive after the new-gen Creta, and it could be priced somewhere between Rs. 18 lakh and Rs. 29 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Maruti Suzuki 7-Seater EV
Maruti is already busy testing its upcoming seven-seater electric SUV, codenamed YMC, in India. The model is expected to be positioned above the eVitara. It will share the feature suite with the Maruti eVitara. It will also boast additional features for third-row passengers.
The battery pack options are also expected to be carried over from the eVitara. However, Maruti could ditch the smaller 49 kWh battery pack and introduce a new one to keep this SUV from being underpowered. Also, the new model could be introduced with AWD.
Maruti’s new electric 7-seater has been spotted testing quite a few times now. We expect it to be launched by the festive season; if not, then by early 2027. Expect the model to be priced between Rs. 22 lakh and Rs. 32 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

New 7-Seater SUVs: Toyota YMC-based SUV
Toyota is also expected to have its own version of Maruti’s upcoming electric seven-seater. This model will be fairly similar to Maruti’s version, but with some Toyota-specific cosmetic changes. Toyota could eventually design it like the new Hilux EV, available in international markets. The interior layout and the feature suite are expected to be the same as Maruti’s YMC.
The launch of this Toyota seven-seater EV could happen around mid- to late-2027. We expect it to be priced between Rs. 24 lakh and Rs. 34 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift
The Mahindra Scorpio N is expected to get a facelift – industry sources point to a launch this month. The new Scorpio N will get several new features, including a bigger infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, and more. The existing 2.0-litre turbo petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options will be carried over.
At present, the Mahindra Scorpio N is priced between Rs. 16.34 lakh and Rs. 30.72 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With the facelift, we expect the model to see a hike of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1 lakh, depending on the variant.
