Over the past few years, Toyota has taken its own sweet time with new car launches. However, that could change as it has quite a few launches planned. Here are the top five Toyota SUVs to keep an eye out for.

Upcoming Toyota SUVs: New-Gen Fortuner
Expected Price: Rs. 45 – 65 lakh (on-road, Mumbai)
The Fortuner is set to get a major update very soon. The outdated interiors are expected to be completely revamped with a new 12.3-inch infotainment screen, 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and a new cabin layout. The feature list would also see improvements, with potential additions such as Level-2 ADAS and a panoramic sunroof. The aesthetics could also be updated to align with Toyota’s new design language, featuring slimmer headlights and connected taillamps.
The powertrain options are expected to be carried over, the trusted 2.7-litre petrol engine and 2.8-litre diesel engine. Toyota could now also make the 48V mild-hybrid diesel available on lower variants. Speculation suggests that the next-gen Fortuner could debut in early 2027.

Land Cruiser FJ
Expected Price: Rs. 35-50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai)
The entry-level Land Cruiser is expected to enter the Indian market by 2028. The FJ will be the entry point for Indians into the world of the Land Cruiser. At the moment, the global-spec models are sold with the 2.7-litre petrol engine as standard, with no diesel alternative. This could disappoint SUV enthusiasts. However, if the demand for the 2.8-litre diesel is too high to ignore, Toyota could offer it in the future.
The Land Cruiser FJ offers plenty of luxuries, including a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, Level-2 ADAS, etc. Importantly, being a Land Cruiser, 4WD is expected to be standard.

Upcoming Toyota SUVs: Hyryder Facelift
Expected Price: Rs. 13 – 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai)
The Hyryder is expected to get new features such as a larger 10.1-inch infotainment screen, a fully digital driver’s display, an electric tailgate, and Level-2 ADAS. Moreover, it could also adopt the underbody CNG tank layout from the Victoris. Newer bumpers, revised headlights and tailights, and more colour options are expected with the facelift.
No changes are expected in the engine bay, as the same 1.5-litre NA petrol and 1.5-litre hybrid petrol could continue to be offered. We could see the Hyryder facelift on Indian roads by mid-to late-2027.

Taisor Hybrid
Expected Price: Rs. 11-15 lakh (on-road, Mumbai)
Up until now, Maruti has been the beneficiary of Toyota’s hybrid technology. But now, Toyota could adopt Maruti’s new hybrid technology. The Taisor is expected to be the first of Toyota’s SUVs to carry this new technology. We expect the hybrid system to be mated to the Z-series 1.2-litre petrol engine (currently used in the Swift and Dzire).
The feature list would carry over from the standard model, which means it could get a 360-degree camera, head-up display, electrically adjustable ORVMs, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a 9-inch infotainment screen, etc. As for the launch, rumours suggest that it could be launched in the second half of 2027.

Upcoming Toyota SUVs: Hilux
Expected Launch: Rs. 30 – 40 lakh (on-road, Mumbai)
The new-gen Hilux is set to launch on July 28. It will get a major revamp with a refreshed cabin and exterior. On the inside, it is expected to get a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, 12.3-inch infotainment screen, ventilated front seats, Level-2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, and much more. These features would make the Hilux much more premium than before.
Internationally, it is offered with multiple powertrains. But in India, only the 2.8-litre diesel unit is expected. The 4WD drivetrain is expected to be offered as standard, but would likely offer an option between a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AT gearbox.
