India’s Cheapest SUV: VinFast VF3
VinFast, a Vietnam-based brand, entered the Indian market with three new cars, the VF6, VF7 and the VF MPV 7, along with a fleet-focused 7-seater, Limogreen. And now, the brand is looking to expand its lineup further, with the upcoming VF9 and the VF3. Showcased at the Auto Expo 2025, the VF3 is a very small EV in SUV form, which is a good fit for Indian preferences. Also, it will likely be the most affordable electric car you can buy in India, expected to undercut the MG Comet EV with its aggressive pricing. So, let’s take a look at what the VF3 could offer.

Design and Features
Even though the VF3 is a small car, it still has a proper SUV-like design with a boxy look and black body cladding, which gives it a rugged appearance. In terms of dimensions, the car measures just 3,190 mm in length, which is longer than the MG Comet EV but shorter than other EVs on the market. However, to help the VF3 stand out, it gets a few vibrant colours: Rose Pink, Electric Blue, Urban Mint and Summer Yellow. In terms of features, the VF3 gets a 10-inch touchscreen, manual air conditioning, power front windows, rear parking sensors, and a few more.

VinFast VF3: What Else?
Being a small EV, this is one of the best cars for city use. The VF3 gets an 18.64 kWh battery pack, a single electric motor producing 43.5 bhp and 110 Nm of torque, and a claimed range of 210 kms. This range is ample for city use, and, being RWD, it might just turn out to be fun to drive, considering the size of the car. We can expect VinFast to offer a BaaS plan to further reduce the VF3’s price. VinFast could price the VF3 anywhere between Rs. 7 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). This EV will likely be introduced in India by early 2027.
