Mahindra Vision S: 5 Things To Know

It will reportedly join the Scorpio family as a sub-4m offering. Logically, the production-spec Vision S is most likely meant to bolster Mahindra’s modern sub-4m compact SUV line-up, which, by and large, currently hinges on the XUV 3XO & the Thar 3-door.
Mahindra has already confirmed that the all-new NU_IQ platform, on which the Vision S is based, can accommodate multiple powertrain options, ranging from ICEs to hybrids and battery electrics. It is also confirmed by the multiple versions of the Vision S test mules spotted so far: one with a conventional steering wheel and an analogue tachometer with RPM markings suited to a diesel engine, and another with a ‘BE’ steering wheel, hinting at an electric version.
The latest spy shots also confirm significant layout changes inside the cabin. Many of the elements seen on the Vision S concept will carry over to the production version, including the new AC vents and dashboard configuration. Mahindra has also confirmed that the NU_IQ platform-based models will focus on elements such as ‘Command Seating’, ‘Class-Leading Boot Space’, and ‘Flat Floor’ architecture.
It is most likely the first-ever front-wheel-drive iteration to join the Scorpio model family. That’s because the NU_IQ platform is primarily intended to be front-wheel-drive, with scope for all-wheel drive as well.
If you look forward to the ‘Baby-Scorpio’, your wait won’t be too long, as its debut is slated for 2027. Given that its test prototypes were among the first to be spotted among the upcoming NU_IQ models, it won’t be a surprise if it debuts commercially first.
