Tata Motors recently launched the electric Sierra – basically the same ICE model built around a new electric architecture that includes all the goodies from the regular model and, in addition, offers an AWD configuration. However, the Sierra EV’s pricing eventually closes the gap with the Harrier EV – confusing buyers about which SUV to choose. So, here’s a detailed comparison between the two.

- The Harrier EV is the more powerful eSUV, with its front and rear motors producing 18 hp and 29 hp more than the Sierra EV’s, respectively.

- The differentiating factor, apart from the power drop in the 75 kWh battery pack of the Tata Sierra EV, is the 63kWh battery pack compared to the 65 kWh unit offered with the Harrier EV.

- The price of AWD in the Harrier EV is about Rs. 60,000 higher than that of the Sierra EV. This is because the Harrier offers AWD on the Fearless variant, while the Sierra offers it only on the top Empowered A variant.
- However, the top-spec Tata Harrier EV’s Empowered variant is around Rs. 3 lakh more expensive than the Sierra EV’s fully loaded Empowered A variant.
- Although the Sierra EV misses out on some features compared to the Harrier EV, the Rs. 3 lakh price difference between the top trims helps to make the Sierra one of the value-for-money SUVs.
