New Skoda 7-Seater SUV Coming Soon?
While the Indian car market has only witnessed ICE vehicles from Skoda, the brand is doing very well with its first few EVs in the international markets. Skoda recently launched its biggest car ever, the Skoda Peaq, which has us in awe thanks to its sheer size, futuristic design and impressive practicality. While the Peaq was launched in the UK, we do expect Skoda to bring this to India, as the EV market in India is growing quite rapidly. That said, let’s take a look at what this new electric 7-seater has to offer.

Skoda Peaq India Launch – Design And Practicality
As we mentioned, this is the biggest Skoda ever, measuring up to 4874mm in length – longer than Skoda’s flagship sedan, the Superb. And you know what that means – loads of space. So much so that even with 7 seats up, you have 299 litres of boot space. And in the 5-seater configuration, you get 935 litres of boot space. But the size isn’t just for added practicality – it’s for the design too. Being the biggest Skoda ever, the Peaq demands attention with its imposing stance. It does share design cues with the smaller Skoda electric cars with “Skoda” lettering on the bonnet, T-shaped headlights and a connected LED DRL. Skoda has done a great job maintaining a similar design language across its EVs, as the Peaq looks like a full-grown-up version of the Epiq.
Similar to the Epiq, it gets T-shaped taillights as well, and surprisingly, they aren’t connected taillights. Other attractive design elements include the massive alloy wheels, which go up to 21 inches, a roof spoiler, and very tasteful use of piano black appliques to complement the rest of the car. On the inside, Skoda has taken a minimalistic approach with a clean and premium dash design. The dual-tone theme, along with the amazing placement of the ambient lighting, lifts up the cabin quite well. That said, this is one of the best-looking Skodas in our opinion. Features
Being a new electric Skoda, features are in abundance. The Peaq gets a plethora of features like a 13.6-inch portrait-style touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, powered, ventilated and massaging front seats, a 16-speaker Sonos sound system and the list goes on. In terms of safety features, Skoda offers 10 airbags, an ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, park assist and much more. The SUV has been loaded to the brim with comfort and convenience features, but how does it perform?

Skoda Peaq India Launch – Powertrain And Pricing
Skoda offers 2 battery pack options with the Peaq: a 63kWh battery pack and a 91kWh battery pack. The smaller battery pack is paired to the rear-axle-mounted electric motor, producing 201bhp, and offers a claimed range of 459km on a single charge. On the other hand, the larger battery pack is available with a single electric motor (RWD) as well as a dual-electric motor setup (AWD). The RWD version has a claimed range of 647km and produces 285bhp.
The larger battery pack with dual electric motors and AWD have a combined power output of 299bhp and a claimed range of 613km. Now to the crucial part – pricing. Skoda launched the Peaq in the UK at £51,980 (approximately Rs 55 lakh), with the range-topping version going up to £58,280 (approximately Rs 63 lakh). We can expect Skoda to price the SUV between Rs 60 lakh and Rs 65 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Skoda could launch the Peaq by 2028.
