Features

Nexon is already a fairly loaded compact SUV – in fact, it is one of the cheapest to offer several exciting features, including a sunroof. Now, with the generational update, the Tata Nexon will see more features added to its suite. We expect a new, larger infotainment unit, along with an upgraded sound system and an AR HUD, among other upgrades.
There will also be several safety-related feature additions. This includes some additions to the ADAS suite – the current one comes with level 1 ADAS, while the new one could come with level 2 ADAS. Apart from that, the Nexon will carry forward the current set of 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and other equipment.

New Platform

The current Nexon is built on a modified version of the X1 platform, which is quite old. Industry rumours suggest that the new-gen Tata Nexon will be built on the modified version of the ARGOS platform, which underpins the Sierra. Here’s one catch: the ARGOS platform can accommodate cars measuring between 4.3m and 4.6m, so Tata would re-engineer the platform the other way round to hold the Nexon, which is a sub-4m SUV.

Powertrains

The Tata Nexon already offers a multi-powertrain setup, which includes CNG, petrol, diesel, and electric options. With the update, the Tata Nexon is expected to carry the same set of powertrains with the new-gen model. Well, as other car makers are trying to offer a hybrid or plug-in hybrid setup with their cars, Tata could also offer something similar, but it isn’t been revealed yet.

Launch & Price

The new-generation Tata Nexon is planned to launch by mid-2027. So there’s still some time left; as we near its launch, we will be able to sight its test mules and spot several changes from the inside out. Speaking of pricing, we expect the new-gen Tata Nexon to be priced slightly higher than the current model. Currently, the Nexon is priced between Rs 8.70 lakh and Rs 17.24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
