The Punch wins the safety battle comfortably, as it has been tested by the BNCAP and has a slight edge in the safety features department. But it is also important to note that the Exter is one of the few models to offer a dashcam at this price.

Interestingly, the Punch does not offer a spare wheel on the 2 lowest variants, and you have to settle for a puncture repair kit. This seems like a major omission for the Tata Punch.

Verdict
Both the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter are better choices for buyers looking for a Micro SUV. However, the Tata Punch offers a good suite of features, while the Hyundai Exter isn’t far behind. So, if you are planning to buy a lower trim, the Tata Punch could make more sense due to its affordability. However, if you want to save big on the top trim without losing the majority of features, the Hyundai Exter could help. But, if you don’t want to miss out on the ventilated seats, and bigger wheels, the Punch will serve you better.
