Hyundai Creta has been one of the most tried-and-tested mid-size SUVs in India. It has also been one of the best-sellers, even after the sub-4m got tax benefits. Now, Hyundai is planning to give the Creta a generational update. Earlier, the updated Creta was expected to launch by mid-2027, but now, given the Indian market, it seems Hyundai might pre-pone the launch.

New-Gen Hyundai Creta Launch – What’s New?
Recently, the June 2026 sales report was released, and the Hyundai Creta missed the list. This mid-size SUV has consistently recorded around 16,000 to 17,000 units sold; however, this time it hasn’t even reached the 10,000 mark. Now, this shift is not due to consumer demand, but might be because Hyundai has limited the production of this SUV, as the new-gen model is in the launch pipeline.
Now, industry sources claim that the new-gen Creta might launch by mid 2027 (in the March to May window), but as Hyundai has begun limiting production of the current model, it seems the launch of the new-gen Creta might be just around the corner. We expect the new Creta to launch by the end of this year or early 2027.

New-Gen Hyundai Creta Upgrades
With the new-gen model, we expect several cosmetic changes, feature additions, and a new powertrain. Also, like the new Seltos, Hyundai will place the Creta on a new K3 platform – which will eventually make it more stretched, making the interiors roomier and more comfortable for passengers.
Speaking of the upgrades, we expect a complete overhaul on the outside – expect it to get a new grille, a new set of LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, redesigned tail lamps, revised bumpers and a new set of alloys. Inside, expect a new dashboard layout. Moreover, it will ditch the current connected screen unit and equip a sole large Pleos infotainment unit, along with a small pop-out type instrument cluster.
The current generation of the model already includes several features. So, we won’t see any major additions here; it could get some more ADAS features, maybe an extra airbag, and other options.
As Hyundai shifts the Creta platform from K2 to K3, this will add extra length and improve safety. The Seltos is currently based on the K3 platform and is the safest mid-size SUV (tested by BNCAP). Now, one of the most frequently asked questions about Creta was its safety; the same will be answered with the new-gen model.

Expected Price
Speaking of pricing, the new-generation Hyundai Creta is expected to be priced slightly more premium than the current model. We expect the prices of the new-gen Creta to range between Rs 13.5 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
