Tata, at its investor day meet, revealed its plan till FY31, which includes a slew of product refreshes as well as some exciting new cars, to widen its portfolio. So, here’s what Tata has planned for the next 5 years!

Tata’s Plans For FY31
Tata has been quite proactive with launching new cars and introducing timely facelifts over the years. And now, the brand has a massive portfolio which includes 9 ICE cars and 6 EVs, catering to buyers seeking cars in almost every price range. However, Tata doesn’t want to stop there and has revealed its plans for the next 5 years.
In these 5 years, Tata plans to introduce 6 new ICE cars and more than 20 cars in India. Moreover, the brand will also be introducing 4 new EVs and over 10 facelifts and model refreshes, and we get to see one of these 4 upcoming EVs in just 6 more days, as Tata will be launching the Sierra EV on June 30. Tata has also been working on the Avinya for quite some time, and we could expect it to arrive by mid 2027 as part of this plan.
The brand currently holds around 40% of the market share in EVs, and Tata is looking to gain even more success with the new additions it plans to bring. The carmaker has been offering cars in every segment and wants to further expand the lineup to offer more variety for car buyers.

New Tata Cars Coming To India
Tata currently has 9 ICE vehicles in its portfolio and is looking to expand it to 15 ICE cars. According to speculations and industry sources, 2 cars that we know of are currently under work – Scarlet and Terra. Out of these, the Scarlet is speculated to be a lifestyle SUV to take on the Mahindra Thar 3-door and the Maruti Jimny. The Terra is expected to be a sub-4-meter SUV as well. We believe that Tata could bring back the Sumo nameplate – a 7-seater MPV based on the Sierra’s ARGOS platform. That leaves us with 3 more cars with no details revealed yet.
Moving on to the EVs, we expect Tata to bring in the Tata Sierra EV in just a few days, while the Safari EV is expected to be introduced by the festive season. Tata has also confirmed that the Avinya will be one of the 4 new EV nameplates. That leaves us with just one spot, which is expected to be filled by an SUV codenamed Kuno – a sub-4-meter EV. As of now, these are the only details that we are aware of, and it will be interesting to see these cars in the flesh.
