The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is one of Toyota’s most successful models. It continues to sell in substantial numbers, despite the increased competition in the segment. Not to mention, it hasn’t received any major updates since its launch in 2022. Toyota is now reportedly working on a facelift for its best-selling SUV, and here is what you should know about it.

Toyota Hyryder facelift – What To Expect?
The Hyryder has been spotted testing on Indian roads, and by the looks of it, the facelift seems more like an evolution than a revolution. The design language is identical to the current model. It is quite difficult to pinpoint what has changed due to the camouflage. We expect the facelift to include minor aesthetic tweaks, such as revised headlights and taillights, a tweaked front fascia, and updates to the front and rear bumpers. Toyota could also introduce new colour schemes and alloy wheels to keep things fresh.

Interior
On the feature front, the Hyryder could get a couple of additions to its outgoing equipment list. Some of the expected inclusions include a larger infotainment screen, a powered co-driver’s seat, an electric tailgate and, most importantly, level 2 ADAS. It will continue to offer features like –

- Auto headlamps
- Rear AC vents
- Heads-up display
- Ventilated front seats
- Electrically adjustable ORVM with autofold
- Automatic climate control

Toyota Hyryder Facelift – Powertrain
Currently, the Hyryder is offered with a 1.5-litre NA petrol and a 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain. Toyota will refrain from messing around inside the engine bay, and the same engine options are expected to carry over. The same applies to the transmission options: 5-speed manual, 6-speed AT, and e-CVT (hybrid only). A major update could be the addition of the underbody CNG setup to the Hyrdyer. The Victoris, which shares its platform with the Hyryder, offers this setup for improved practicality, and we expect Toyota to borrow this tech for its best-selling SUV.

Expected Launch & Pricing
We expect the Hyryder facelift to be launched in the early months of 2027. A facelift is long overdue for the Hyryder as the competition has grown significantly. A facelift could give its current sales figures a huge boost.
The addition of an ADAS suite could drive up the prices by around Rs 1 lakh. The outgoing model costs between Rs. 13.27 and Rs. 24.51 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). This increment seems fair as a plethora of features are expected with the facelift.
