If you haven’t guessed it yet, it is none other than the Taisor hybrid. We all know that the Maruti Fronx hybrid is in the testing phase and has been spotted multiple times. Toyota Taisor Hybrid – What To Expect?

Maruti has developed a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine, which is seen in the Dzire. Now, this engine is an Atkinson cycle engine, which allows the engine to charge up the battery pack instead of powering the front wheels. This is a series hybrid setup, where the engine acts as a generator and the battery pack, with the help of an electric motor, powers the wheels. This allows the battery pack to constantly have enough range to get you from point A to point B. Moreover, it is unlike a regular EV, which could take a long time to charge back up again. Until now, Maruti was using Toyota’s hybrid tech in cars like the Grand Vitara and the Invicto.
However, Maruti’s series-hybrid tech will be a more cost-effective and affordable setup, which we could get to see across Maruti’s and Toyota’s lineup. We believe that the Taisor will be the first Toyota to get this new hybrid powertrain. We can expect Toyota to launch the hybrid version of the Taisor in 2027, along with a slew of new features and tech. Expected features include a larger touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a single-pane sunroof, and a few more. The Taisor on sale tops out at Rs 15.28 lakh, and we expect the hybrid model to be priced around Rs 16 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
