Hyundai i20 facelift 2018 Automatic launch in May

Hyundai has launched the i20 facelift but there is no automatic at the moment. As per the reports, the Hyundai i20 facelift 2018 Automatic will be made available by May. Launched at the 2018 Auto Expo, the Elite i20 is made available with a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel. Both are available only with manual transmission. The previously made available 1.4-litre petrol with four-speed automatic will be discontinued. This is due to the high pricing of the petrol engine. Also, it will miss out on mileage too.

Hyundai i20 facelift 2018 Automatic Engine

This time the i20 facelift 2018 will have a 1.2-litre petrol engine. This churns about 82bhp of power and comes with 115Nm of maximum torque. The engine will come mated to a CVT instead of a four-speed. This will improve the mileage and the smaller engine will mean better pricing too.

The Elite i20 facelift 2018 will be available to become competitive with a lower price. There has been a surge in demand for automatic cars under Rs 10 lakhs and Hyundai seems to be loosing its share. This will get back the company in this game. At the moment, the Baleno CVT and Jazz CVT are taking away the cake. This time, Hyundai will also grab its share from the pie. Hyundai has been missing out on features in the automatic due to expensive engine. This will be taken care off now.

There won’t be any difference on the inside of the Elite i20 Automatic. It will get an addition of the Gear mode on the instrument cluster. The Hyundai Elite i20 will have dual tone interiors with black and beige colours. There will be fabric seats and even other features like a seven-inch touchscreen AVN, reverse parking camera, keyless entry, push start and stop button, dual airbags and ABS and also there is navigation. There won’t be any difference in the interior styling of the Automatic.

It has been launched only with one variant. The Magna version gets automatic. So, this means that the Elite i20 automatic will miss out on a lot of features.

Hyundai Elite i20 Automatic price will be about INR 10 lakhs (on-road, Delhi). It will come only with a petrol engine and with Asta variant only. The new smaller engine will reduce the price and the taxes. Thus, the automatic will be more affordable and offering more features too.
