With 2026 approaching, manufacturers want to empty their stock. The discounts are heavier than ever, and some argue that it could be the best time to buy a car. But this year, things are a bit different. Late 2025 has seen some new vehicles on the market, like the Victoris, Sierra, and new Seltos. This means the market remains competitive. Many manufacturers are also planning significant price hikes across all their models in 2026.

Maruti Suzuki has offered heavy discounts on its cars this month, and here is how you can get even cheaper Maruti Suzuki cars.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

The Grand Vitara used to sell in commendable numbers until the arrival of the Victoris. The Victoris ate into the Grand Vitara’s market share. It was priced cheaper and had a more feature-loaded top end. But both share the same platform and powertrain. The Grand Vitara is also arguably the better-looking car. The top-end of the Grand Vitara may miss out on ADAS and a smart tailgate, but otherwise, the feature list is the same. But since the Victoris is a newer car, the sales are expected to be higher.

However, Maruti is now trying to boost the Grand Vitara sales. They are offering more than 2 lakh rupees in benefits on the Grand Vitara. The discounts are as follows-

  • Smart Hybrid – up to 1.85 lakh rupees
  • AWD – up to 2.4 lakh rupees
  • Strong Hybrid – up to 2.4 lakh rupees.

The discounts aren’t straightforward. It is a combination of cash discounts, exchange/scrappage bonus, upgrade bonus and corporate discounts. The final discount you get depends entirely on the exact variant you buy. For instance, the discount of the Zeta and Alpha variants is higher than that of the Sigma and Delta. If you wish to replace your old car with a new one, this deal is easily within reach. You also get a 5-year extended warranty with this deal, and in total, the maximum benefits add up to almost 2.5 lakhs.

Thanks to these discounts, you could get a mid-variant (Delta) for the price of a base-Victoris. Also, the top model is almost 3 lakhs cheaper than the Victoris model. All you miss in the Grand Vitara is ADAS, a smart tailgate and a digital driver’s display. This is the best value-for-money Maruti you can buy right now.

WagonR

The WagonR is Maruti’s bread and butter. You can get up to 58,000 rupees in benefits. The cash discount amounts to 30,000 rupees, and the corporate discount to 3,000 rupees. You get a 15,000 rupee discount if you exchange your old car, or a 25,000 rupee discount if you scrap it.

The fleet variant H3 Tour is eligible for a discount of up to 60,000 rupees.

Alto, Celerio and S-Presso

Due to the WagonR, these cars go unnoticed. Maruti has tried to attract customers by offering a hefty 52,000 discount. This includes exchange/scrapping, corporate, and cash discounts. These cars are already some of the cheapest that you can buy in today’s market, and this discount seems significant in comparison. This means that you can effectively get the base S-Presso and Alto for less than 4 lakh rupees (on-road).

The fleet variant of the Alto- the H3 Tour, gets a discount of up to 60,000 rupees.

Swift and Swift Dzire

The Dzire is one of the best-selling cars at the moment and the only sedan that Maruti offers. Maruti has been a bit generous, offering a 10,000-rupee cash discount and a 2,500-rupee corporate discount. The Dzire would have sold in as good numbers even without the discounts, and yet Maruti decided to give one anyway. Tour S (Dzire) gets up to 35,00 rupees off (10,000 on the CNG).

The Swift gets a larger discount of up to 55,000 rupees, including a 25,000 cash benefit, a 25,000 scrapping bonus (or 15,000 exchange bonus), and a corporate bonus.

Fronx

On the non-turbo variants, you get a flat 15,000 cash discount and a 15,000 exchange or 25,000 scrappage bonus. The discounts are extensive on the turbo variants, where you can avail of up to 65,000 rupees in discounts. This does not include an additional accessory package.

Ignis, Baleno

The Ignis has become a name of the past, and it sells so little now. To clear out the Ignis stocks, Maruti is offering up to 80,000 rupees in discount. The discount is lower on the base variants. If you wish to exchange the car rather than scrap it, you will receive a 65,000-rupee discount.

With the Baleno, you get up to 60,000 cash discount, 15,000 exchange discount, or a 25,000 scrappage discount.

Ertiga, XL6, Eeco and Invicto

The Ertiga might be the leader in MPVs, but the other two don’t fare as well in the market. That is why Maruti is offering only a 10,000 rupee discount(even on the fleet variant), whereas the XL6 gets a 50,000 rupee bonus (25K cash + 25K exchange bonus).

On the other hand, the Invicto gets a massive 1 lakh rupee cash discount. Add this with the 1 lakh exchange bonus or the 1.15 lakh rupee scrappage bonus, and the total discount amounts to almost 2.15 lakhs.

The Eeco gets up to 52,500 rupees off, depending on the variant you choose, and its fleet equivalent, the Tour V, gets up to 50,000 rupees off.

Vitara Brezza

The Brezza has been performing well in the market, yet it still offers a decent discount. You get benefits that can amount to 40,000 rupees. Its competition in the Venue, Nexon and Sonet could have forced Maruti’s hand to offer such discounts.

Jimny

With the Jimny, you get a straight 1 lakh rupee cash discount. This amount is considerable, given that it costs less than 15 lakh rupees (on-road, Mumbai).

Should You Buy Now?

Next year, many manufacturers plan to raise prices. It is yet to be known whether Maruti Suzuki does the same. But they are planning to introduce flex-fuel and new hybrid tech next year. Few new models are expected, and they won’t be getting any discounts soon. The discounts on the Grand Vitara, Invicto and the Jimny are massive at the moment, and if you are planning to buy one of these, this is the best time to buy. Best-selling cars like the Victoris, Ertiga, WagonR and Dzire won’t be getting any cheaper soon. But Maruti will continue to offer discounts on its other less-selling cars.

The discount varies depending on the variant chosen. Higher trims usually get a higher discount. Maruti also rewards people who scrap their cars more than people who exchange them. If you have a vehicle older than 15 years, this could be the best time for you to get a Maruti Suzuki.
