Could This Be The Best-Looking Indian Car?
The BE6 is arguably the best-looking car under 30 lakhs. People love it for its butch, modernistic look, which makes it look like a Batmobile. The SUV stance complements its look well. But what if it were reimagined as a sedan or a fastback? Sedans may have gone out of fashion, but they still remain as one of the most attractive body types. A fellow enthusiast attempted to make one such render, and here is how it looks.

Looks

The actual BE6 appears to be a concept model. The sleek body and sharp cuts look straight out of a render. The same applies to this sedan. It seems unrealistic that a production model could look like it, but Mahindra proved that it is possible with the SUV. You can see slight glimpses of a Tesla Model 3 or Model S in it. It has the same characteristic LEDs as the BE6 SUV.

The BE6 also has a coupe-esque roofline, as does the fastback. The only difference is the height and ground clearance. Due to the low height, the car’s nose is pretty low as well. Despite being a sedan, it still has road presence. The BE6 has vast dimensions, and so does the render. If launched today, it would easily be the best-looking car on the roads and even outshine the premium European brands.

What Is So Special?

With this render, you can also see the inside of the model. This is where it is evident that it is just a concept. The cabin may be spacious, but it seems too impractical and unlikely at the price point. It is overly minimalist, and the BE6 SUV interiors look much better and more practical. To keep things interesting, the artist has imagined the car with the “suicide doors”.
What makes these renders even more special is that the artist has given them his unique touch. Most renders are based inside a studio. But here, things are taken a step further. The render has been captured in various Indian scenarios, including temples, Mumbai streets, auto-expos, Delhi highways, a parking lot next to a Maruti 800, a garage, and even while being reviewed by journalists.

What If It Were Released?

The rise of the SUV market has pushed many successful sedans out of the market. The Octavia, City, Ciaz, Verna, Elantra, Virtus and Slavia, all brilliant cars in their own right, sell in measly numbers, and some of these cars are discontinued or near-discontinued due to poor sales. And if you give it the “EV” tag, it further hinders the reputation. EVs may offer excellent performance, and the BE6 even offers a great range, yet people are sceptical about owning one over an ICE engine.
Enthusiasts love sedans, but most are anti-EV, and the general public wants an SUV. This slims down the market for a BE6 sedan. Unfortunately, the chances are near 0. It is a shame that we won’t be able to see the stunning BE6 sedan live in the flesh. Furthermore, Mahindra’s twin-peak logo is a symbol of SUVs exclusively and won’t be used for sedans. Mahindra has prioritised SUVs, and it is unlikely we will see any sedans from them again.
Overall, the render is a valiant effort to try something unique with the BE6. The BE6 is already an attractive-looking car, and he has made it even better for sedan enthusiasts.
