Triumph 400cc Bike Price Hike – What’s Coming?

According to dealer sources, Triumph 400cc bikes will witness a price hike by 7th December. Bajaj held the price of the Triumph models from September to till date, despite the new GST rates. From 7th December, anyone buying a new Triumph 400cc bike would need to pay the revised prices. While the new price structure is still kept under wraps, the Speed 400 is suggested to cost Rs 3.17 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) from 2.90 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) current price. Similarly, other 400cc models will also see a certain amount of hike.
With this price hike, the 400cc Triumph bikes might lose its VFM (value for money) quotient, as the scrambler 400x with new price will directly rival the KTM 390 ADV X, while the Speed 400 will compete with the KTM Duke 390.

Should You Buy Now Or Wait?

Now, many would have planned to take a Triumph bike soon – but looking at the price revisions, they might revisit their thought. So, if you are one of them, then you would need to buy it as soon as possible before the price revision date. But keep in mind, several owners stay away from buying a new bike at the end of a year. Because you get the bike from the previous year in the new year. For eg. In 2026, I will receive a bike which was manufactured in the end months of 2025. This will hamper the resale value, going forth if you look to sell your bike.
However, if you still want to enjoy the pre-GST prices, you have merely some days left to make a decision.
Apart from all this hassle, Bajaj also intends to introduce new 350cc models in the Triumph lineup. This will be done to not hamper the buyers, who might scrap their plans of buying a 400cc Triumph after price hike. At present, the exact launch timeline of these bikes are kept under wraps. But we expect the brand should not delay in introducing these new models, which might cause them to lose some sales.
