New Creta Rival Launch

To take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki is set to launch its third rival to the Creta. The brand already has SUVs like the Grand Vitara & the Victoris, and now will be launching the new e Vitara in India. Talking of which, Maruti will be launching the new e Vitara tomorrow – the 2nd of December. What about price? Well, we expect Maruti to launch the e Vitara between Rs 17 lakh & Rs 24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Once launched, the e Vitara will compete with the already established Creta EV, Tata Curvv.ev and even the MG Windsor. But does it have enough to rival these SUVs?

Maruti e Vitara Launch – Features

To rival the Creta, Maruti needs to load the e Vitara with all the advanced features & technology. And the SUV does have a promising feature list. Talking of which, the e Vitara is expected to come with – Level 2 ADAS, 10.1-inch touchscreen system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, powered & ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, 7 Airbags, reclining rear seats & more! That said, it will be interesting to see whether Maruti adds any new features at launch.

Specifications

Globally, the Maruti e Vitara gets two battery pack options – 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The smaller 49 kWh battery model gets an electric motor that produces 144bhp and 189Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 61 kWh battery pack gets a dual-motor setup for AWD, delivering 184bhp and 300Nm. Now, the same was expected for the Indian market too. However, some reports suggest that Maruti might skip the AWD configuration in India to keep the prices in check.
