Rs 20 Lakh Toyota Land Cruiser Coming To Rival Creta?

Toyota currently has the Hyryder which rivals the segment’s best-seller, Hyundai Creta. But, to make the competition more intense, the Japanese automaker is planning to add another Creta rival in its portfolio. Let’s discuss more about this upcoming Toyota SUV –

Upcoming Toyota SUV – What’s New?

We have already shared that Toyota will be introducing the Land Cruiser FJ in India. Now, ahead of that, industry sources point out that the automaker might also look to have a new Creta rival. While the Land Cruiser FJ is around 4.57m long, the new SUV is expected to have a length between 4.3m and 4.4m. 

The industry sources also point that this new model might again have resemblance with the Land Cruiser family. Thus, it might gain popularity real quick. At present, details about this upcoming SUV are scarce, but here’s everything we expect from it –

What To Expect?

At the recently held Japan Mobility Show, Toyota showcased its Land Cruiser Se concept. The same model is expected to be launched as Toyota’s answer to Hyundai Creta. Being from the Land Cruiser family, it will carry the toughness from its family DNA. 

Now, the SUV that was showcased at the event was a BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle). The model might arrive at our shores as an EV or even with hybrid options. Considering hybrids are not so popular amongst the masses, Toyota might not plan an PHEV(plug-in hybrid) version of the SUV anytime soon. 

Again, being from the Land Cruiser family, expect the model to get 4WD drivetrain option. Talking about features, don’t expect any lavish premium features like auto-park, triple screen setup, Level 2+ ADAS and all – however, Toyota might introduce regular options with the model to not make it too expensive.

Launch & Pricing?

Now, the Land Cruiser FJ is currently planned to launch in 2027. That said, this smaller SUV is expected to arrive after the FJ. The Land Cruiser FJ is expected to price between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 32 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With that, the new Creta rival can be positioned below it, with a price tag ranging between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
