Tata Sierra Variants Explained!

Starting from Rs 13.66 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai), the Tata Sierra is slightly more expensive than its competitors. However, it does offer a plethora of features and tech, which could justify its price tag. The Sierra gets a total of 3 engine options: a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine (104bhp & 145Nm), a 1.5-litre diesel engine (116bhp & 280Nm) and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (158bhp & 255Nm). Tata offers 7 variants, namely: Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+. But, out of these variants, which one should you pick?

Smart+

The base variant of the Sierra is the Smart+, starting from Rs 13.66 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai). However, it does get a decent amount of features to begin with. Here’s a list of what you get in the Smart+ variant:

  • Bi-LED projector headlamps
  • 6-airbags
  • Electrically adjustable ORVM
  • 4-inch instrument cluster
  • Front sliding armrest
  • Follow-me home headlamp
  • Connected LED DRLs and taillamps
  • All-wheel disc brakes
  • Electronic parking brake with auto hold 
  • Rear window sunshade
  • Extendable 8-way sunvisor
  • Rear AC vents
  • Illuminated steering wheel
  • Electronic temperature control
  • Dual-tone roof
  • ESP with 20 features
  • 17-inch steel wheels only

This variant only gets the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine and the 1.5-litre diesel engine with a 6-speed MT only. You can only choose 3 colour options: Pristine White, Pure Grey and Coorg Clouds, in this variant.

Pure

Following the base variant is the Pure variant. However, Tata is yet to reveal the prices for the rest of the variants. So, here’s a list of features offered in the Pure variant that are in addition to the Smart+ variant:

  • 10.25-inch touchscreen
  • 8-speakers
  • Rear parking camera with guidelines
  • Electrically adjustable ORVM with autofold
  • Driving modes
  • Cruise control
  • Hill Descent Control
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
  • Shark fun antenna with GPS
  • Steering-mounted controls
  • Paddle shifters (AT and DCA only)

This variant only gets the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine (6-speed MT or 7-speed DCA) and the 1.5-litre diesel engine (6-speed MT or 6-speed AT). You can only choose 4 colour options for this variant: Pristine White, Pure Grey, Coorg Clouds and Munnar Mist.

Pure+

The Pure+ sits just above the Pure variant and gets a few additional features. Features mentioned below are in addition to the Pure variant:

  • Voice-assisted Panoramic sunroof
  • Auto headlamps
  • Alloy wheels
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Two 65W USB-C Chargers in the rear
  • Rear defogger
  • Hidden rear wiper with washer
  • 17-inch alloy wheels

This variant only gets the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine (6-speed MT or 7-speed DCA) and the 1.5-litre diesel engine (6-speed MT or 6-speed AT). You can only choose 5 colour options for this variant: Pristine White, Pure Grey, Coorg Clouds, Bengal Rouge and Munnar Mist.

Adventure

Technically, the Adventure variant is the mid-spec of the Tata Sierra, sitting just above the Pure+ trim. Features mentioned below are in addition to the Pure variant:

  • 360-degree camera with 4-Sight blind spot
  • Front LED fog lamps with cornering function
  • Front parking sensor
  • 7-inch instrument cluster
  • Leatherette wrapped steering and gear shifter
  • Roof rails
  • Smart slide parcel tray

This variant only gets the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine (6-speed MT or 7-speed DCA) and the 1.5-litre diesel engine (6-speed MT). You can only choose 5 colour options for this variant: Pristine White, Pure Grey, Coorg Clouds, Bengal Rouge and Munnar Mist.

Adventure+

Tata’s Adventure variants are usually the best bang-for-your-buck options. Even though we do not have the pricing, the Adventure+ variant seems to have a good amount of features for a mid-spec variant. Features mentioned below are in addition to the Adventure variant:

Accomplished+

The top-spec variant of the Sierra is the Accomplished+, which gets all the bells and whistles. Features include:
