Upcoming Honda SUVs – New Sub 4-Metre SUV

Honda has also announced plans to launch a new sub 4-metre SUV in the country. Possibly looking at the increasing demand of Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Brezza and Skoda Kylaq. At present, details of this compact SUV are scarce. However, we expect it to be based on the Amaze sedan, sharing its underpinnings and engine.
Honda Amaze is currently offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine (88bhp & 110Nm) paired with a manual and CVT gearbox unit. The same engine-gearbox combination is expected for its SUV version – with slightly higher power ratings. Also, the brand might not equip this model with the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine, as it could increase the final cost of the product (GST 2.0 effect).
Soon after its launch, Honda might also offer an electric powertrain option to this SUV. There aren’t any solid details surfacing about the model yet. However, the brand is expected to share details in the coming years.
