Suzuki Access CNG – Revealed

With the rising petrol price, Indian buyers are exploring a range of alternative fuels. To entertain the same, Suzuki has unveiled its new Access, which will run on CBG (compressed biomethane gas) and CNG (compressed natural gas).
Now, the majority of us know about CNG. But what’s the concept of CBG? Well, it is a process that converts dairy waste into compressed biogas, a renewable energy source. At the Auto Show, the scooter featured a dual tank – one for petrol and one for gas.
Talking about the design, it is fairly identical to the model sold currently, but the surprise lies under the seat. The storage now gets packed with a 6-litre CNG tank with a filling nozzle beneath it. Apart from that, it has a 2-litre petrol tank. The brand expects the scooter to run around 170km on a full tank of petrol and gas. That said, the new tech makes the scooter slightly heavier than before.

At present, the model is under development and it will take some time to launch. But the good news is that the two-wheeler manufacturer has already started with its biogas plant work at its facility in India. So, we can expect the model to surely come to India.
Pricing-wise, it can be priced near Rs 1.10 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). More details about the model and its powertrain are expected to be revealed once we near its launch.
