Yes, you have got it now – the Indian EV maker has launched the world’s first commercially available autonomous electric three-wheeler. There’s no driver in it – that said, no one can reject your request. The passenger version of this auto-rickshaw is priced at Rs 4 lakh, while the brand will be launching a cargo version soon at a price of Rs 4.15 lakh!
The brand has now commenced with the bookings for the self driving auto-rickshaw.

What’s In It?

Omega Seiki with its fully autonomous auto rickshaw has taken things to a new high. So, what all does it have apart from the self-driving feature? This three-wheeler being an EV is designed for short distance passenger transport. Moreover, it will work in controlled environments like airports, technology parks, industrial hubs, smart cities and large campuses.
This auto comes equipped with an AI based autonomy stack featuring Lidar, GPS, multi-sensor navigation, and remote safety controls. To make it safe for passengers, the self-driving auto-rickshaw can detect obstacles within six metres and offer a driving range of up to 120km per charge. In its pilot phase, the three-wheeler has cleared a successful run of 3-km route with seven stops without human intervention.
The EV maker has stated that this three-wheeler is built specifically to handle Indian conditions. Having said that, it is designed to handle crowded roads, low-speed traffic and varied road surfaces. This further makes it suitable to run in smart cities, transport hubs, campuses and industrial areas.
