E-Challan Scam –

Recently, a scam. Sharing the details about the fraud, the user shared that he was targeted with a text message claiming a traffic violation, directing him to settle the fine via a link. The user was shocked by the message and clicked on the link which redirected the user to download an app named Vahan Parivahan.
In regular cases, the e-challan payment link redirects you to the main site, wherein you need to fill up the details and make the payment. But in the above case, as the link directed the user to download an app was something fishy and eventually was noticed by the user. Then he searched about the same on the internet and got to know that this was some kind of scam going on in the market.
The worst thing here was, the fraudsters sent an e-challan message with the same registration number of his car, which shows how our data has already been compromised. There have already been cases where some people have lost their hard earned money by being ignorant and downloading the app, giving out all the access of the data and banks to the fraudsters.
