Mercedes Maybach V12 Edition

Mercedes Maybach V12 Edition

Even though it’s not exactly true, as a tribute to V12S, Mercedes-Maybach might just have slightly copied Ola Electric. Ola introduced a Sona Edition, which features a dual-tone pearl-white and gold colour way and few 24-karat gold accents. Similarly, to celebrate its V12 engines, Mercedes-Maybach has launched a new V12 Edition, featuring an S-Class with 24-karat Gold accents. Many Mercedes competitors have decided to shelve their V12 engines, while Mercedes has continued to offer its 6.0-litre V12 engine.

1930 Maybach Zeppelin

The new V12 Edition is likely to be the ultimate edition of the S-Class. It pays tribute to the iconic Maybach Zeppelin from the 1930s. This luxury sedan will be very exclusive, with just 50 units and featuring 24-karat Gold accents. Mercedes offers this S-Class with a dual-tone paint scheme featuring olive metallic up top and an obsidian black metallic lower down with a silver pinstripe between the two colours. The iconic Maybach wheels get the same Olive metallic shade. To top it off, the Maybach logo with the number “12” on the side pillar is made out of 24-karat gold. On the inside, you are treated with sumptuous saddle brown Nappa leather with diamond quilted patterns and the Maybach “double-M” with the number “12” etched onto the headrests.

To add to the opulence, there is a 1 of 50 badge on the centre console along with handcrafted golden accents. Mercedes has thrown everything at this S-Class, with new Robbe and Berking silver-plated champagne flutes with V12 edition badging. The German brand claims that the exterior paint job takes about 10 days of work. On the other hand, the handcrafted golden accents inside take 7 days of work.

What Else?

Mercedes Maybach V12 Engine

That’s not all. The real ornament here is the massive 6.0-litre V12 producing 612bhp and 900Nm of torque along with 4WD and a 9-speed TC. Comfort features include E-active body control suspension, a 12.8-inch touchscreen, a Burmester 4D surround sound system, calf massaging rear seats, electrically operated rear doors, heated and ventilated seats all around the cabin, and the list goes on. Mercedes has not yet revealed the pricing of this V12 Edition. However, the S680 Maybach with the V12 is currently priced at Rs 3.89 Crore (on-road, Mumbai).
