Cherry Tiggo 8 Patented – What’s New?

China’s fourth largest automaker – Cherry, is reportedly active to launch its models in the country. The first model could be the Tiggo 8 SUV, which has been patented recently. Talking about the patented images, the Cherry Tiggo 8 looks like a big bulky SUV having some notable elements like an octagonal grille, LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, 19-inch alloy wheels, sloping roofline, and connected tail lights on its outside.
While, that was something about its design – now, let’s have a look at its dimensions. The Cherry Tiggo 8 is 4,696mm long having a wheelbase of 2,710mm; yes, it’s spacious. Along with that, the SUV is 1,860mm wide and 1,745mm tall too. In the international markets, the SUV comes in a 5-seat configuration – But, India being more particular about 7-seater models, the carmaker could mould the model to add a 3rd row. However, nothing is confirmed till now.

Features and Powertrains

Apart from its spacious interiors, what features does this SUV offer? The Tiggo 8 SUV comes with several premium features including a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, 540-degree view camera, 12-speaker premium sound system, multi-colour ambient lighting, high power wireless charging, built-in dashcam, ADAS, 9-airbags and others in its package. Also remember, this SUV has achieved a 4-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests.
Talking about the powertrain, the SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine (242bhp & 390Nm) paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox option. It also gets the 4-wheel drive setup.
At present, we don’t have any confirmed source speaking about its launch timeline. However, if everything goes well this time, this new model is expected to be launched in the coming year and can be priced around Rs 30 lakh to Rs 35 lakh!
