Skoda Superb has been one of the classy premium sedans in the country. The model was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo, but here the main attraction was its diesel engine. This new model was expected to launch in the second half of this year. But, now it seems the brand might have pushed its launch! So, what’s happening & when will it launch? Let’s have a look –

In a recent interaction, Ashish Gupta, Skoda Auto India’s Brand Director hinted that the Superb might not make an entry in India this year. A few months back, we said that Skoda might hold the plan of launching its diesel cars in India. This may be due to several reasons, but any as of now is not confirmed. Having said that, the Skoda Octavia RS will be the only car that will be launching in the country this year.

Skoda Superb Interior

The Skoda Superb is expected to make its entry in the market in the following year. Apart from that, Skoda India’s brand director also mentioned that Skoda is preferring to offer the RS tag on its other cars too. Yes, that means in the coming time we will be watching several more performance oriented cars on our streets. But, he didn’t mention specifically which car from its lineup will be the first regular car to get that badge! So, we would need to wait a bit for it.

Moreover, there were rumours saying Skoda Kodiaq will be also introduced with a diesel engine, but as the launch of Skoda Superb has been pushed. We would need to check if the plans with Kodiaq diesel are intact.
